If only there were a way to store water for times like this. Perhaps a wall or something that could hold water back so it would fill in a low lying area. Alas such a device will never exist.
Why don’t they start first with kicking all illegals out? That would reduce the population in half, reducing water demand substantially.
Why no desalinization plants in CA?
Stop using logic. You will confuse the narrative 😀
Everything ya see growing in S. CA has been planted and must be watered.
In fact, if ya shut the water off going into S.CA, it would revert back to desert in a matter of a few months. No joke.
But then the smelt won’t be able to traverse the entire length of the waterway and will have to content itself with spawning downstream.
No can do.
California doesn’t have a water problem, it has a Democrat problem. They have plenty of water, but can effectively use it because of Democrat party policies.
Full disclosure; I grew up in SE LA county and lived in the Sacramento area for a few years so I’ve seen both the south, the north and lived with their unique issues.
.....ahhhhhh...California...the golden state.... the land of fruits and nuts.......
can is CAN’T
It’s caused by solar panels and windmills.
Yes, its time, and power them with Nuclear power plants North and south
And while I am on the subjecty, lets run a sea level pipeline from the Columbia to the Delta. Common WA and OR. Get the team spirit.
Politically that was tried. Big no.
Oregon and Washington are also currently in drought.
Newsom is doing NOTHING to increase water storage. He’s a useless POS.
For some reason I’m thinking of these severe droughts ancient Israel had and how they kept not repenting.
I've been saying this for years only to be attacked by the liberal ding dongs. Housing, water, energy, sewage could all be kept in check if we reduced the extra load.
“Right now, California has 12 desalination facilities in operation, but there are calls for more. There are three in the Northern California area near Monterey and San Francisco. As for proposed desalination facilities, there are 15 in all, including seven in Northern California.”
I posted numerous articles by Katy Grimes at the Globe on how Dipstick DRAINED ALL of our reservoirs last year when they were at 100% capacity and flushed all the water out to the ocean.
If you read the tea leaves, people in cities will always get a small amount of water over farmers. Unfortunately, this means that lots of irrigated California agricultural products will start to be in short supply. Eventually things like almonds, dairy products (the feed and water for the cows), melons, etc. will need to be imported from other places.
They wasted 5 years worth of water last year.
They have no one to blame but themselves.
