Several 'chatter' threads on various boards about this tonight.
Summary:
1. Volunteers travel to Ukraine at their own expense to fight against Russia.
2. Guy shares picture showing he's at the Yavoriv International Center for Peacekeeping and Security with a bunch of other foreign nationals to enlist and train.
3. A friend of his decides to post the picture on Reddit for 'upvotes'....
4. Russians see the location and send in a cruise missile.
5. Barracks of 35 Ukrainian soldiers destroyed. Many killed.
6. Foreign nationals try to go back to Poland.
There are no Good Guys in this conflict.
^^This^^
Wow. That’s really bad. Like crazy. It’s a suicide mission. How are they supposed to fight?
He sounds American tho. Not British.
Ya mean they SHOOT BACK?!?!?!?!
The American soldier served a number of years as a tank crewman, and a year in Afghanistan. He said after the attack 3/4 of the guys in his group decided to go home. Also a number of them were not very qualified. Here is another story linked there. Nine Russian soldiers are trapped in a high rise elevator after they try to use it to go to the top of the building and someone in the building shut it down trapping them, leaving them to be photographed by the security camera. Not very good urban warfare training.

Those of us who were alive in WW2 remember the refrain: “Loose lips sink ships.” God, they are so young!
What with technology these days, that does not surprise me.
A full house beats a flush. However, a STRAIGHT FLUSH, beats a full house.

Multiple reports confirm the mess he says. I’ve seen a French, a Brazilian, etc.

There was also a report about a couple of US mercs arrested and beaten up in Kiev by the Uke National Guard.
They gave their lives
Happy snaps fill in the gaps. Google map and streetview of my house is 5 years old
They gave their lives
Sure, sadly, i get that. And they accomplished what goal exactly?
A fait accompli
Russia gets what they want
It’s a matter of time
As long as surrounded uke troops and Azov hold out with civilians
Putin has to weigh dead civilians against a quicker end
These idealists wasted their lives
This is no Alamo or Goliath’s
There will be no San Jacinto to validate their deaths
I’m betting that most of them thought that war would be an adventure. Experienced fighters should have recognized that things were too loosey goosey there to be safe. Not a game.
also a good point
