Several 'chatter' threads on various boards about this tonight.
Summary:
1. Volunteers travel to Ukraine at their own expense to fight against Russia.
2. Guy shares picture showing he's at the Yavoriv International Center for Peacekeeping and Security with a bunch of other foreign nationals to enlist and train.
3. A friend of his decides to post the picture on Reddit for 'upvotes'....
4. Russians see the location and send in a cruise missile.
5. Barracks of 35 Ukrainian soldiers destroyed. Many killed.
6. Foreign nationals try to go back to Poland.

Going to a foreign country to volunteer in a live shooting conflict has a lot of downsides. Not the least of which is poor impulse control in the ‘volunteers’. Not good for opsec.
Except, They gave only Virtue Signaling. They showed They Care more than you so you can applaud them, because They Care.
But they also demonstrate Terminal Stupidity.
Sure, RIP. They accomplished NOTHING.
There are no Good Guys in this conflict.

There was a woman on top of her car in a flood taking a selfie.
I saw a list of 50+ people who died to get the ‘perfect selfie.’ Crazy.
I remember decades ago chuckling to myself at the Japanese tourists who had to obsessively take photos everywhere they went. Instead of enjoying life they were busy documenting it.

P.s often said orientals have a particular thing for selfies and happy snaps. Might be something to it. But I think in case of some Chinese there is a more sinister purpose behind their shutter feeding frenzies. Collecting pics for China Military Intelligence. Every city. Every waterway. Every road etc

More than once, a Chinese “tourist” is arrested while taking photos on the “secure side” of a security fence near USN base at Key West.
I read several threads (Not on Reddit) of volunteers absolutely full of regret for getting involved. One guy saying while missiles were falling that he was praying to the God he doesn’t believe in that he wouldn’t be next. -That volunteers are put in the front lines to scout in order for Ukraine army to determine where the Russian strengths are - and often are shot for doing so.
Another guy was upset as it wasn’t anything like what he thought it would be - that they had no defense against the Russian army - poor leadership - and no direction. Felt like sitting ducks.
Spokesman for Russia said they know where every volunteer group is.
Unless they are sick or injured they not covered by any geneva convention articles either. U.S wasted Russian mercs in Syria. Unfortunately for these naive ones, payback is a beeetch
I inadvertantly ended up on tic toc for about 15 minutes today - Oh my gosh what utter nonsense! Posting themselves in every stupid and silly pose they can believing people want to see that. Hard to believe youth of today are entertained there.
