Filmmaker and director of the Marvel Universe’s 'Black Panther’ movies Ryan Coogler was falsely arrested at an Atlanta bank after the teller mistook him for a bank robber after he passed a note to her.

Will anyone have the you-know-whats to take Chunk Yogurt, of Turkish descent to task for any role his great great grandfathers had in the Armenian genocide?
And ANYONE regardless of color, tries to inconspicuously slip a note to a bank teller asking to DISCREETLY withdraw a 💩load of money, WTF did this fool expect? If anything the police did exactly what they're supposed to do. Coogler may not have committed a crime but slipping a note to a teller asking for a big withdrawal is asking for trouble. A dumbass move, IMHO

What is an Armenian doing hanging out with a Turk?
P.S. I thought the guy was detained, not arrested.

Especially if he didn’t properly identify himself as the proper owner of the account.

I slipped a note to a teller decades ago to ask her out on a date. It worked out well.

Cops were black, bank manager was black, body cam of black manager talking to black cop showed a advertising poster in the bank of a black couple,...so obviously whiteys fault.
To: Larry Lucido
Tellers and store clerks are trained to assume the person is armed.
All he had to do was speak to the manager in private and it wouldn’t have been an issue.
It was unwise to try and withdraw large amounts of money in front of a teller anyway.

It was his money! His request wasn't beyond the scope of any bank. Requesting, a large amount of cash to be counted with care is not weird.

Seems to me a perfectly rational and prudent action for someone who’s justifiably concerned about getting jacked by some black hoodlum. And who to know better about black hoodlums than the leader of BLM?

“P.S. I thought the guy was detained, not arrested.”
In general most courts have ruled that a ‘detention’ must be brief and cursory. An arrest occurs when a person has been handcuffed, placed into a custodial situation (back of a cruiser, jail, locked room, etc.), required to identify, and etc, then an arrest is generally accepted to have occurred.
By a reasonable observer standard it is clear that Coogler was arrested.

Cenk is an a-hole. I love to watch election night vids of his reaction that Trump beat Hillary.
and by the way, the teller was a black woman so he can suck it, bigly.

His request wasn't beyond the scope of any bank. Actually $12,000 in cash is something they ask you to arrange in advance for.
Banks, oddly, do not keep that much cash on hand.
I went to a bank to withdraw $3,000 and had to settle for coming back the next day to pick it up. That was at least ten years ago.
I do think the cashier over reacted but a large cash withdraw is something you prearrange.
