Amazing that as Russia has invaded Ukraine, Joe Biden has fled Washington DC for his compound in Delaware. Call him “Runaway Joe.”
Biden’s green energy policies make the US more energy dependent on foreign countries such as … Russia. Now we see the folly of Biden’s energy policies.
For example, gasoline futures are up 99% since December 31, 2020. Some of the recent increases in gasoline futures can be attributes to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but the price surge started when Biden entered the White House and killed off energy exploration. Way to go Joe! Is Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg his actual Secretary of Energy??
Of course, rising energy prices (self-inflicted wound on the US economy) begat our 7.5% inflation rate. The US Treasury 10Y-2Y curve has flattened with rising energy prices and inflation.

The investment kept away was because the legal and regulatory costs at 45-65 were not worth it. At 90-120 it is worth exploration to delivery. Trump by mandate lowered legal and regulatory costs at zero dollars cost paid by american taxpayers or the oil companies. The Democrats choose to put a $35 overhead on a US barrel. The oil companies can expect $12 bucks in profits per barrel they will be out there working for it. Today the profits are $36....even if they hate biden, they are tapping that in the next 6 months, starting the 5 year cycle on proven inventory in the ground.

I posted this last week.
On Thursday 3:14 pm, I started filling up the tank on my wife’s car and the gas was $4.859 /gallon.
As I was filling up, the price per gallon on their electronic sign went up to $4.97 per gallon.
I got the lower price because I had started filling up. The guy who took my place in line, got to pay $4.97/gallon.
Maybe he learned the ‘running away’ trick from the little dictator in d’Ottawa.
