It's a video. No, I won't transcribe it for you and I don't care if you hate videos. Don't be a dick; just don't click.
Greg Ellis is a British author, television director, voice artist, and actor who has appeared in Oscar-winning movies directed by Hollywood superstars. He has produced and written for TV, starred in Broadway, and voiced characters for many movies, TV shows, and video games.
His most recent work, The Respondent, is a multimedia combination of personal experience and a critique of the family law system in America.
“don’t click.”
Roger that.
At this point, when my son comes of age and asks my opinion on marriage, I will tell him the truth, at least as far as community property states are concerned.
That it’s an illusory contract designed to punish the man/primary breadwinner, no matter how good his behavior, and benefit the woman, no matter how egregious her behavior.
Ha ha.
Ellis discusses his own experiences with divorce from a vindictive woman, and what the family court system puts men through.
This is one of the reasons why the agrarian model is superior to the industrial model.
Men and women should both work from home and raise their daughters and sons together throughout each day.
I work with both men and women and the courts are capricious and the judicial system is plain evil.
Both sexes suffer tremendously under the courts. Both sexes have places where they are powerless in the system.
First Law. Never get married.
“That it’s an illusory contract designed to punish the man/primary breadwinner, no matter how good his behavior, and benefit the woman, no matter how egregious her behavior.”
Indeed. You summed it up perfectly.
If I only knew then what I know now, I would have never married. The court system raped me financially and rewarded her generously.
If I ever get so lonely and feel a dire need for companionship, I’ll get a dog or a cat.
What I tell young men is there is a very simple solution to this problem—if you want to marry a woman make sure she has better job prospects and wealth than you do.
Then suddenly the risk/reward analysis looks a lot different....
Seeing what happened to both my cousins, co-workers, and several friends with divorce, got that idea out of my head.
This is correct.
That’s a fact. And to add insult to injury you ...can’t finish that.
Good for you. No, wait a minute. You DID click.
If I ever get so lonely and feel a dire need for companionship, I’ll get a dog or a cat
Have two dogs, two cats, two horses, and a parrot. And a wife. Rarely do the cats or the wife give much companionship. I think those three are Biden voters.
Rollo Tomassi and the Rule Zero guys are of one accord about the mistake it is today for a man to get married.
That said, my college girlfriend (now wife) have been together for 51 years. We are the only one of about 12 couples we know from that era that are still together. We’re happy as clams. (”No brain, no headache!”)
Such an analysis would have dramatically changed my life but
I needed it over 50 years ago; back when the little head was running things.
Thank you for posting. If you say ‘Jordan Peterson’ I’m in. A crime what this poor man has gone through.
My husband and I have been together 48 years. He is the handsomest, most kind, cheerful, and sometimes funniest guy in the world and I am the luckiest woman in the world.
I watched the video interview of what happened to Mr. Ellis. He is not alone. A coworkers marriage fell apart when he discovered wife was having sex with his best fiend. The wife justified her behavior in every manner possible to avoid admitting she was wrong. It was a bitter divorce and my friend was understandably angry. Things got heated and the wife declared to authorities that he was molesting their 5 year old daughter. She essentially used the kid as a weapon and what a weapon it was. The rest of my story is the same as what happened to MR. Ellis. You are guilty, no arrest, no trial but punishment is dispensed for years.
