Wildly popular podcast host Joe Rogan allegedly received a whopping $200 million contract from Spotify, double the amount initially reported by media.

The streaming media service had picked up Rogan’s show “The Joe Rogan Experience” for what analysts had initially said was a $100 million deal. The podcast has been touted as the most popular in the world, regularly attracting millions of listeners and viewers per episode.

The New York Times this week, meanwhile, reported that the deal was actually worth considerably more than the earlier estimates.

“[T]he true value of the deal that was negotiated at the time, which covered three and a half years, was at least $200 million, with the possibility of more, according to two people familiar with the details of the transaction,” the paper said.

Both Rogan and Spotify have been embroiled in a bitter series of controversies in recent weeks as activists have accused the podcast host—and by extension Spotify—of allowing unchecked COVID-19 “misinformation” on the show.

Rogan has also come under fire for having referenced a racial slur multiple times on past episodes of the show without having self-censored himself while doing so.

he’s probably gotten them more exposure than that!

And cowardly liberal Neil Young has quietly given up and put his music back online.

Joe Rogan is learning what Trump knew all along: Any media exposure, even negative media exposure, is acceptable if not desirable.

How does Spotify generate income sufficient to pay Rogan that vast amount of money?

Honestly…..why? Its really not that good, or that topical. All the earth shattering crap on his show was something Steve Bannons Warroom covered a year earlier.

He’s not a “never-Trumper”. A never-Trumper is a Republican who rejects Trump. Joe Rogan supported Bernie Sanders. Does that sound like a Republican to you?

Rogan podcast are downloaded 190 million times a month.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/01/business/joe-rogan.html

So if Spotify makes 1 cent profit on each download, they will make $1.9 million a month, $22.8 million per year, $228 million per 10 years...

No mention that the times he used it he was always quoting other people.

The real reason Neil Young is upset. It’s all about the money.

Great Forbes atory explains what Spotify is up to:

Rogan is the pivot point for Spotify to lead the future podcast as media market. Rogan is a loss leader.
