Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis voiced his support for a bill that would prohibit the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in the state's primary schools.
Asked by reporters at a Miami event Monday, he said it was "entirely inappropriate" for teachers to be having conversations with students about gender identity, citing instances of them telling children, “Don’t worry, don’t pick your gender yet," and also "hiding" classroom lessons from parents.
“Schools need to be teaching kids to read, to write,” DeSantis said. “They need to teach them science, history. We need more civics and understanding of the U.S. Constitution, what makes our country unique, all those basic stuff.”

Well there was some violence. Its not clear if any of it was started by actual Trump supporters. The most serious violence I know of was shooting Ashli Babbit dead. Perhaps all the video should be released so the public can see just where the other violence came from.

Yeah the name of the bill sucks. Just reading the title I thought DeSantis was supporting a bill that prohibited anyone from using the word gay as a slur as we did in our school.

“Don’t Say Gay” isn’t the name of the bill, it’s what the media wing of the DNC is calling it.

From the article:
Echoing DeSantis, proponents of the Parental Rights in Education bill — dubbed by critics as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill — argue that discussions about LGBTQ issues are “not age-appropriate” for students.

What’s wrong with ‘queer’?
To: noexcuses
I get that but, just reading the headline and the name of the bill is not conveying the purpose that great. Benlurkin nailed it with his alternate name of the bill, and should have been called “Don’t teach my kids sodomy”. The “don’t say gay” to me initially meant it’s a hate crime against gays if you say the word gay. Do we still have the freedom to call out that kid that wants to prance around in girls clothes at school?

"Schools need to be teaching kids to read, to write,” DeSantis said. “They need to teach them science, history. We need more civics and understanding of the U.S. Constitution, what makes our country unique..." Well, that will have lefty heads bursting like colored mushroom-clouds from sea to shining sea.

The term queers was once used in a derogatory manner. Today they call themselves queer. Go figure.

I'm old enough to remember when 'gay' meant 'happy' and 'queer' meant 'different.'
That probably just means I'm old.
Her thoughts were gay and happy and the morning gay and fine,
