There was hope that Alberta Premier Jason Kenney would send a message of an end to COVID vaccine passports and other restrictions in the province often considered Canada's most Conservative today.
But he sent shockwaves through the grassroots of Canadian Conservatism in his province by pushing more COVID shots in the future and laying out future scenarios for bringing the vax passports back when he spoke late this afternoon.
The truckers at the blockade in southern Alberta quickly responded with a reimposition of a full blockade on the US border with Montana saying their goal was:

Is this old news? I thought Alberta was going to drop all requirements.
The replacement would probably be tasked with the same end result as JT but given a longer time frame and perhaps a different set of tools.
One thing is clear here, world wide this was never about the public good, at 99.8% recoverable (with no treatment at all) the tool was ridiculously flimsy.
It was about control.

This is the real story of all the caveats in what Premier Kenney said when he spoke to the media a few hours ago.
It’s not a permanent end to vaccine passports and mandates demanded by the trucker convoys.
It’s a temporary backdown by Premier Kenney.
Annual COVID shots will be the next mandate. Once big pharma government comes it’s hard for them to let go.
In other words, it was nothing. He is lying so they will go home.
