I caught Covid from my husband on January 7th. He was better by January 12th, which is the day I tested positive. However, I’m still suffering with an annoying slightly productive cough. Otherwise no fever and saturations are over 95%. I feel like I’ll be back to normal in another day or two. I also had Covid in March 2020 which lasted at least 2 weeks.

We’re 68, unvaxxed, and in pretty good health/shape other than hypertension. Hubby works in a restaurant while I’m currently unemployed, yet we’ve never gotten sick since March 2020. I think I got it worse than my husband because I’ve had bronchitis multiple times over the years so my lungs have sustained more damage. I also smoke when I drink which is about 5-6 cigarettes a month.

We’ve been taking vitamins C, D, K and B Complex along with quercetin, zinc, calcium, CoQ 10, and biotin for over a year. About 3 months ago I added turmeric, nigella sativa, NAC, alpha lipoic acid, lysine, magnesium, pantothenic acid and melatonin. After we got sick, we added ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. I’m pretty sure I’d be a lot sicker if I wasn’t taking the above.

On December 8 it began with a massive headache, mild fever, then coughing, then congestion in sinus, then in lungs. All in slow motion, it took all of four weeks to become symptom free. Vaccinated with Phizer in March. My supplement regime: 10K IU D3, K2, magnesium, B complex (I was limiting animal protein), boron, quercetin, zinc, C. 70 YO.

When I was a teenager, I enjoyed a couple of Ian Fleming's James Bond stories. There was one quote that I always remembered:

'Advance against the enemy and the bullet might miss you. Retreat, evade, betray, and the bullet would never miss.'

I had that - along with Rudyard Kipling's poem 'IF' - tacked inside of my clothes-closet door...

I was at 5k/day of D3. My cardiologist said that dosage might cause kidney stones. I began researching that tonight and found "Vitamin D Intake and the Risk of Incident Kidney Stones" in the Journal of Urology, February 2017, by Pietro Manuel Ferraro, Eric N. Taylor, and Gary C. Curhan. It doesn't look like D3 up to 1,000 has much effect on kidney stones. But the authors didn't check high dosages of 5k to 10k.

I bought a bottle of 10pct betadine and cut it by ten into a dropper bottle. So 1pct drops into the nose followed by the navage. I’m trying to kill it where it grows.

That might explain how we caught it. We’re out of our BP meds (losartan/HTCZ and amlodipine) because Walgreen’s effed up the refills. The timing of that corresponds with when we got Covid after all these months.

“... quercetin, D3, zinc, C, melatonin, multi’s, and NAC ...”

You’ve got the right regimen. Keep drinking plenty of liquids and plan on having to get a lot of rest. You should be fine. You’re doing it all right.

Wow, that is one heck of a list of supplements. Must take you forever to get all those sorted out and ingested!

I’m on B12, C, D3, Melatonin, NAC, Quercetin, and Zinc. Ivermectin and Doxycycline are on stand-by if I get sick.

If it was two years ago it might be mildly interesting but right now it just looks like someone needs some attention.

Yes I really care what meds you are taking for blood pressure. How’s the headache and the arthritis? Is your bursitis acting up?

I confess that I LOVE hearing people like you who take responsibility for your own health. The zinc and quercetin and ivermectin are the key to getting through this thing, along with the other supplements. Yeah!

I've had this sh*t four times now. Severity and symptoms vary. My first was the worst and I thought it might even kill me at the time. I was very sick for a solid week and very weak for another week after that.

2nd time lasted 2 days.

3rd time lasted 1 day.

4th time I am just now getting over. It has been worse than the 2nd and 3rd, but not nearly so bad as the first time.

Didn't have a cough the first three times. This one has given me a cough, but it is slowly going away.

Chills and fever occurred at different stages with each iteration i've had. Sometimes they lasted for days, and sometimes they lasted for a few hours.

The virus mutates fast and variations can reinfect you. Some versions of it are worse than others.

How bad you react to it will depend on your genetics, your health and which flavor of the bug you have picked up. I think your preventative treatments will help you a lot, and may stave off the worst of it.

Just received word last week that a good friend of mine has died from it. He was considerably older than me, and significantly obese. Also in poorer health.

Got word this week that his brother died a few days later. His brother was younger and healthier, but it wasn't enough.

I take 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day but I also take vitamin K. One of my supplements is actually a combo D3/K tablet. The K apparently takes care of the excess calcium from the D, which hopefully protects my kidneys.
