I drove around with a workmate in a Chevy Sonoma last Wednesday for about 20 minutes. We were both masked. He is vaccinated and I am not. He is in his 50’s and obese. He doesn’t smoke and I don’t know if he drinks. I am 60 and smoke about 1/2 pack a day and drink. I am 5’9 and 189.. He tested positive and I went into quarantine last Thursday. I started having the sniffles on Friday. I went for a test on Monday and it came back positive today. Since I was positive, I was sent home from work and took another test to be sure. I suppose I’ll get the results tomorrow. No fever or anything else besides feeling slightly “off”. I still have taste and smell..
I’ve been doing quercetin, D3, zinc, C, melatonin, multi’s, and NAC for over a year. Since my nose started running, I’ve been putting a couple of squirts of 1pct betadine in my nose and gargling with it. I also started the Navage after squirting the betadine in my nose. I think the best thing is to kill it when it’s in your nose. The funniest thing was when I bent over to pull up weeds my nose leaked. Only the left nostril. That’s the only one that leaks. Strange.
Today I’ve had a little congestion which is gone. I started on a Ziverdo course since I had it in case I have the Delta.
I’m not concerned and don’t really have any symptoms since I’m two fingers in because I’m off tomorrow.
I’ll keep up on this in case anything changes.
My wife is 58 and is vaxxed. She tested today and we’ll she how she tests. I’m just sharing this because this is not anecdotal evidence to me. This is real life.
EXACT same experience for me. A 5-6 day cold. From top of shoulders up. No fever. No loss of taste or smell. A bit of a headache, sore throat, and congestion.
I’m a handful of years younger than you and I was armed for COVID, which I got from my wife a couple weeks back.
I had COVID-19 for 1.5 days. She had it for two and a half weeks, yet the same regimen, albeit, started mostly one day delayed, due to being on vacation.
COVID-19 should have been worse for me than her, due to age and other characteristics.
have a gin and tonic and a cigar, fuggem ;)
We've gone from China Corona Virus 2019 to just covid, which covers about 9 active viruses.
Ain’t it funny how that cured damned near everything back in the day? Going for another two fingers.
Good on ya. Get well.
I’m 60, 6’ 215 and in decent health. Double vaxed with Moderna in March/ April 2021. Felt it Saturday, anniversary of my dads passing last year partly due to covid he had at Christmas. This fells like a cold, now I just have a little cough and sniffles.
Cheers!

My husband and I have strangely avoided Covid entirely, despite not being overly careful.
We are both vaxxed, and take D3 every day, probably a little more than recommended. My husband goes out-and-about a lot more than I do, and he is younger and more fit. But I guess if he had been infected at all, I would have contracted it, too.
We just don’t worry about it. My personal opinion is that worry is one of the major influences that runs down the immune system.
FWIW, I had “something - cold/sinus” in late 2019 that gave me a lingering cough for about a month.Meh.
feel like yearly mt cedar to me *sniffle*
Thanksgiving 2019 the OG strain.
Fever for all of four hours, then massive headache that is indescribable.
It made my eyes roll up in my head, then I was doing the Marty Feldman eye.
Had to do the rest of my shift with one eye closed.
Headache stopped, chest congestion for two weeks then done.
2020, not so much as a sniffle.
Thanksgiving 2021, 103 fever, joint aches, everything either smelled flowery or bad.
Never lost sense of smell or taste just experienced it being altered.
The worst was being hungry, having a 103 fever and unable to eat because everything we had was dairy based as everything else gets eaten at the start of the week!
Oh, interrupted sleep.
It messed with my sleep, was lucky to drop off for two hours at a time.
what are ya gonna do? live in fear?
negatori
I have an on and off mild headache. A wired headache.
There are odd little variations that make results vary. For example, I’ve read glutathione levels are important to recovery and those who take acetominophen around the clock for chronic pain are likely to have depleted glutathione levels.
Then there are ace inhibitors in some prescription meds (blood pressure) which reduce binding etc. The details seem to sway our succeptibility.
So far it’s less than cutting the grass on a dry day.
LOL don’t worry about him. This isn’t a blog pimp, so you’re safe. Hope you’re feeling better.
I have ordered the nasal atomizers and the betadine...just to have on hand.
