Seems not that long ago the millennials were ragging about the boomers hogging all the good jobs by not retiring and getting their old butts out of their way.
You just beat me to that one. How the stories change. It’s almost as if CNN wasn’t a reliable news organization, but wait, no, that can’t be it...
Why does everyone bring up drug tests? I’ve had several jobs in my lifetime and I have never once taken a drug test. I’m retiring in a little over a year and will probably never have to take one.
The pedophiles are still broadcasting their toxic garbage.
I am in the transportation industry and drug tests are the norm. I like the tests because it weeds out the “weedy.”
Because there are a lot of jobs that require drug tests, most notably, truck driving. A number of professions I’ve hired for require drug screening. I think a number of jobs in the public sector require drug testing as well. It’s out there.
I’m a boomer and could retire right now but will hang in there for another 6 years to ago 70 maybe longer.
Of course the best laid plans... but if all goes well will prolly start collecting social security at age 68 continue to work to 70+
Why not?
Anyone able to retire at age 55 should be congratulated. Me-62, the 1st day I was eligible for SSI. To hell with bosses and putting up with unnecessary BS that has nothing to do with getting the job done or increasing profits. Somebody has to get it right. Biden won’t and I don’t care.
I must have just missed it then. I never had any desire whatsoever to work for the government and as important as truck driving is, it never appealed to me. I still think there are many good jobs you don’t need to drug test for and if you can’t find one, you not really trying.
No, you’re right. There are a lot of jobs that don’t require drug screening, but there are a number of jobs that intersect with public safety or general safety that do.
Would they please make up their mind?
No, not a boomer. Just someone who is tired of hearing them being blamed for everything, including things that happened before they were born.
As well they should.
Taught for 32 years. Retired at 62. I began to start saving for retirement the first year I began to teach.
You know you’ve won an argument with a millennial when the only thing they can say is “Ok boomer”
Boomers range from 75 to 57 years old. The majority are at or over retirement age, so isn’t this common sense? If you are nearing retirement age in modern corporate America you are lucky to be working all with the rampant Ageism that never gets seriously addressed.
The democrat party wants to murder older people.
Any one, any age who gets in their way.
