President Joe Biden’s disastrous economic agenda has set the U.S. economy on a collision course, so what does CNN do? The network pinned blame on older Americans.
CNN released a ridiculous story headlined, “The data that shows Boomers are to blame for the labor shortage.” The story suggested that “Early retirement — whether forced by the pandemic or made possible otherwise — is having a huge impact on the labor market. And data show that retiring boomers, far more than ‘lazy’ millennials, are the biggest force behind the labor shortage.” But as Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen pointed out Oct. 21: “The Biden administration’s policies are exacerbating the inflation and extreme labor shortages we are experiencing.” He continued: “Why are we experiencing such a massive worker shortage? Simple. Workers can afford to be on the sidelines.”

I wonder who they blame for their lousy ratings?
There are still plenty of job openings - for those who actually show up for them.
Smart companies bribe boomers past retirement age to stay. Mine gave me a sweet deal— a raise, an extra week of vacation, work at home four days a week and drive to the office one. Too good to turn down.
this BOOMER is still WORKING..when I retire though..if this COVID BS still going on..I WON’T WORK part time even
“CNN tried to harp on the fact that 90 percent of the 3.6 million Americans who left the labor force last month were over the age of 55”
How many were over the age of 65? How long is CNN demanding that these old fogies remain in the workplace?
I’m a boomer that is about to contribute to the “labor shortage” myself.
I don't know if blame is the right word but there've been a lot of early retirements since Covid hit.

Looks like those COBOL programmers who were put into a deep freeze until Y3K will be defrosted a tad earlier than expected.
How times change.
When I was 70 (and still working) there were all these stories about how much older workers are costing society.
At 72 I finally decided I had enough and retired - and now you get this crap.
And by the way, to qualify as a ‘boomer’ means you are likely 70 or very near to it.
62% of the US population has been fully vaccinated and most of the of the remaining 38% of the population has just been kicked out of the workforce by the Biden administration’s new rules. And CNN is blaming baby boomers for the labor shortage. Are they really that stupid?
Labor shortage? Boomers? Saw plenty of them working at various jobs yesterday. And “NOW HIRING” signs everywhere. Some middle age folks some young folks also working.
We can’t retire when we want to retire?
That’s a new one.
I’m almost 79 and still working. If the Vaccine Mandate comes, I’ll call it quits

FU CNN! we worked our fingers to the bone, and what did we get? bony fingers ...
Baby Boomers were born from 1946-1964 so Boomers are anywhere from 57-75 years old.
When I started at my company 7 1/2 years ago, I was the oldest employee at 51 and the average employee was about 30. Now I run HR, and fully 50% of my new hires are older than 65.
Companies are not hiring Boomers - I get calls from Headhunters every week - I have a long list of Guys over 60 who still want to work. Most of these guys were Senior Managers or Directors in Warehousing, Distribution & Transportation.
All are real Pros.
None of them can even get an interview because of their age.
Fake tears from the Hiring Managers...
