Because they don't mention the party affiliation you can bet he's a dimocrat. An aide in the House of Representatives was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly carrying a gun inside of Congress. The individual has been detained, and Capitol Police stated that there is no threat. "This morning at approximately 7:40 a.m., our officers in the Longworth Building spotted the image of a handgun in a bag on the x-ray screen," said the Capitol Police in a statement. "The man was tracked down four minutes later and arrested." The alleged owner of the bag and firearm was identified as Jeffrey Allbrooks, who works with the House Chief Administrative Office. Allbrooks told Capitol Police he forgot the firearm was in there. Allbrooks is being charged with carrying a pistol without a license. U.S. Capitol Police sent out an email Thursday morning stating that there was a "security threat" inside of Longworth, asking staff to take necessary precautions.

Which reminds me, did they ever punish the House Dem who shot Ashley Babbit?
Ashley Babbit was unavailable for comment.
He needs to use a different bag for his firearm so he doesn’t have to forget again.

You’re talking about same dimocrat who left his loaded Glock in a restroom? The answer is no.
This type of thing happens at the airport more than you’d realize.
Guaran-f*cking-teed!!
Well, If I had to hang around a pack of degraded criminals and perverts like the US Congress I’d want to be armed too.
Wow what a rapid response to a perceived threat, not immediately when the xray showed the image but tracked down four minutes later. Methinks calls were made to see if he was protected by Pelosi.
Guns are a natural part of living where I make my home in Central Pa. I don't give a second thought about seeing them (that bulge on the hip or a glimpse of a shoulder holster when a jacket is pulled back), however my first thought is one of safety - like that guy has my back and I have his. In current circumstances, it would seem unnecessary due to a lack of crime. However, I have grown to think it is the reason for a lack of crime.

Yep, I’ve lot two knives because I forgot them in my backpack. grrr
Arrested is not the same is detained or visa versa.
I wish writers would be more deliberate in their reports.
Daily Beast has a picture of him
Definitely “Amish”
Charges will be probably be dropped and he gets the gun back, guaranteed
So, they saw the gun in his bag when it went through the x-Ray, but it took them four minutes to track the man down after he’d already cleared security? How long did it take them to figure out they were looking at a gun? That’s four minutes too long.
Happened to a friend of mine, he has a CHL and is usually carrying. He met up with his family after work at the airport and simply forgot it was in his work bag. Honest mistake but it still cost him $3,500 fine. It could have been a lot worse.

DING DING DING!
Post of the week!
Heh heh. He deserved the fine for forgetting where it was.
Punish? Surely you jest. The gave the guy a medal, most likely.
I was wondering that same thing - why 4 minutes? I’ll bet you’re right. There was at least one or two calls to find out if the rules should be enforced or not.
