The Media’s Pathetic Attempt To Discredit Tucker Carlson
The Blue State Conservative ^ | 12/07/2021 | Parker Beauregard

Posted on 12/07/2021 4:00:46 AM PST by TheManWhoWantedToBeLeftAlone

The latest coordinated hit piece against Tucker Carlson, from a combination of self-serving individuals and the usual corporate media outlets, is nothing short of desperately sniffing parmesan cheese to get the next news cycle high. It also reveals how little ammunition remains in the woke artillery.

There has been little coverage of this story in conservative circles, and indeed, it only came to my attention after an across-the-aisle friend asked me what I thought about it. I won’t bother linking to leftist outlets because they don’t deserve the clicks and ad revenue, but the precis of the situation is that Tucker Carlson allegedly asked Hunter Biden for a recommendation letter – to the latter’s alma mater – circa 2015 for the former’s college-bound son.

And…that’s it.

The clear implication of the story is that Carlson is a fraud because he is a self-styled populist on camera and an elitist elbow-rubber off it. I admit that I was initially surprised to see anything linking Carlson to the younger Biden in a positive light, but on second glance, why wouldn’t two prominent men eventually come into contact and find common interest? The story, without explicitly saying it, falsely propagates the notion that politically-distant foes could never find common bond. While their publicly-known lifestyles do not line up, both are of similar age, both have similar pedigrees, and being human, no doubt have other complexities and interests that offer more overlap than not.

It is not neither a scandal that Carlson befriended Biden nor that he would have asked him for a college recommendation letter. Anyone that has attended college or sought to get their child(ren) in college must admit that the requisite letters always came from a person of influence. Otherwise, why get a letter at all? As a graduate of the school in which Carlson’s son sought the letter, Hunter Biden made perfect sense.

In every effort to gaslight the hell out of the American public, this specific focus also highlights the corrupt corporate media’s transition from hiding and denying the initial revelation of Hunter Biden’s laptop to now allowing dissemination of select leaks. So the laptop story is accurate now? When the New York Post broke its bombshell piece just weeks before the 2020 presidential election, every major news outlet and social media giant silenced and/or banned even a reference to it. They had no interest in determining its veracity for themselves or wrestling with its implications. Fast forward a year, and the single most important story from a trove of emails allegedly containing questionable (and illicit) pictures, email confirming various business arrangements trading on the Big Guy’s name, and sundry other concerning issues is a single thread of short emails between Carlson and Biden in which the supposed friends speak amicably and in search of a small favor?

Is this really the most concerning email on the apparently-true forgotten laptop? This is journalistic malpractice of the highest order.

The entire charade is also reminiscent of the recent attack on Jon Gruden’s professional football career. Out of some 650,000 emails, in a search for something else entirely, the only ones released – or at least reported on – to the public contained private exchanges involving colorful language by Gruden. Plenty of memes went around at the time juxtaposing Gruden with a picture of Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden. In this round of fake outrage, the same response can be applied. This is what we’re supposed to get worked up about?

Hillary Clinton scrubbed an entire private server, which was illegal in both the sense that it was private and also scrubbed in the middle of a nominal search, in the process deleting tens of thousands of emails. No one cared. Hunter Biden later came along with his laptop and most likely caught Papa Joe in multiple lies about previous knowledge of business partnerships and linked him directly to corrupt dealings. No one cared.

This was a lot of words dedicated to the initial question by my friend. The Tucker Carlson scandal? As if.

Although this is a nonstory – a nothingburger as people more hip than me like to say – the entire saga began when sleazeball lawyer Lin Wood shared a screenshot of the emails to his Telegram account. The fact that Carlson aired his exclusive interview with Kyle Rittenhouse just days prior, and in so doing allowed Rittenhouse to reveal what a slimy character Wood has vis-a-vis Rittenhouse’s three-month jailing despite having raised enough funds, surely prompted the vendetta-driven leak. Wood went on a social media tirade using a lot of capital letters and discussions of lawsuits.

I had never heard of Lin Wood before the 2020 election recount process. The little I know now, based on how he apparently traded on a young kid’s name (and let him rot in a jail cell for months on end), later positioned himself to litigate the 2020 election recount efforts, and now weakly attempting a public shaming of Carlson, doesn’t bode well for this person’s character. The real story is how a greasy lawyer probably made millions of dollars scamming decent Americans in the last year.

Tucker looks clean; I wonder what his emails would show?

Seeing how Lin Wood helped Richard Jewell win against the corrupt prosecutors back I his day, I am very disappointed to see this attorney with such an accomplishment go south.

This Tucker thing really is a nothing burger.

The campaign against Carlson even managed to dupe a few FReepers who I hope will be reconsidering their anti-Carlsonism.

I’m old enough to remember Tucker as this bowtie-wearing little guest pundit on Fox back in the day. Now I see him and think of that clichéd old newspaper headline, ‘Local Boy Does Good’.

Very soon, perhaps this evening, Tucker Carlson will test conservatives' loyalty over the issue of the defense of Ukraine.

We conservatives who are intellectually honest are always of two minds about the proper reach of our military footprint. We know that Joe Biden's brand of Neville Chamberlain appeasement makes war more, not less, likely. We also know that misplaced military involvement such as we have seen in Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, Mogadishu, Afghanistan and many other unseen places have debilitated America, alienated our allies, and impoverished us leaving us less safe and less secure.

It is also imperative that our adversaries be kept off balance that they can never be sure of our reactions. For example, Eisenhower said, "I will go to Korea" and nothing more about what he would do when he got there but his reputation as the conqueror of Western Europe was enough to conclude the Korean War. But that war that had been caused because our State Department told the world that Korea in 1950 was outside a line that America would defend, thus removing doubt about how America would react to invasion of South Korea.

When General Millie picked up the phone and called his counterpart in China and told him that Donald Trump was not going to bomb China and that if he were Millie would inform the Chinese in advance, General Millie denied President Trump leverage by removing doubt. So our president must have room to create doubt and even when necessary to intimidate, as Trump so often boisterously but successfully acted out in his administration. Yet, that same president must retain the confidence of the American people including both political parties that his foreign policy is under control and prudent. A balancing act that Trump evidently had lost with Nancy Pelosi and general Millie.

Biden has lost both the power to intimidate our adversaries as well as the confidence of his people. Now the country is in peril. Many of us on this forum have noted the potential for grave security threats if Russia and China coordinate attacks against Ukraine and Taiwan. Even without concerted action, Biden himself is liable to miscalculate in a desperate attempt to regain the support of the people which he has squandered. In other words, he might compound his failures with ifbelligerent postures that lead to war.

To return to Carlson, he will come down heavily on the side of refraining from exposing the country in foreign lands such as Ukraine when he sees no direct connection to the American national interest. But his view of the American national interest is more limited than the view of other conservatives and there is bound to be dispute over our proper role in support of Ukraine. Some of us are more mindful of the risks of passivity. Some of us are so jaded by Afghanistan that we encourage a more fortress America posture.

It will be interesting to see how far Carlson pushes his point of view on his upcoming treatment of the threat in Ukraine and it will be equally interesting to watch our reactions.

Lin Wood seems too affected by what I call “celebrity dust.” They can’t stop that stuff on from getting on them and it’s hard to keep it from affecting their attitude.

Every so often a word comes along that I’ve never heard in my three-score and ten years. Then I hear it a few times within a few days. This may be one of them.

Notice that the one guy the ‘January 6 committee’[SIC] is NOT going after...Lin Wood, and he always seemed a little too good to be true and showed up out of nowhere too. Democrats and their fellow communists worldwide are intentionally damaging Western civilization for their globalist agenda. I saw a video about the harms of government actions and how now is the time to refuse to obey, and you can check it out at Whatfinger News in crawler link top of page. I’ve never even worn a mask once, and won’t get the jab. I am Gandalf at the bridge in Moria. Instead of going after Tucker the lamestream media should be looking in the Cuomo-mirror.

Jewell was one of the first people that the Mueller and Comey FBI tried to frame. LOTS of others.

I’m not anti-Tucker. I just remember him caving on the election theft, so I ignore him. YUGE difference between going after someone and not acknowledging their existence. The opposite of love isn’t hate (or vice versa), it is indifference. To a ‘pro wrestler’ it doesn’t matter if they are booed or cheered, it’s when you sit on your hands when they work that they lose their jobs.

Tucker did an interview with Tony Bobulinski that laid out the Biden Criminal enterprise. It went nowhere. Unlike Hannity that will beat a dead horse, Tucker knew where the story was going.
DC is such a Swamp.

I’ve heard Carlson say on several occasions over the last couple of years that he knew Hunter Biden and found him very likable. So, I wasn’t surprised when I read that this happened 6 years ago.

The Media-Dem Party and its legion of liars and perverts march on. Next they’ll break the news that Tucker Carlson owes $11 in unpaid library fines.

At some point in the Laptop from Hell saga, Tucker said on camera that he knew Hunter Biden, had considered him a friend, and held no animus toward him. He expressed sadness that Hunter’s life had become such a mess.
