I’ve seen this claim on both the left and the right. It is wrong. Kyle Rittenhouse is no hero. Not at all. He did nothing heroic. Not. One. Thing. At least on that fateful night when he shot three people. One might rightfully grant him kudos for his testimony in court and his subsequent statements after the trial. However, it certainly appears to me that so many are determined to label his actions on the night for which he was tried and acquitted for as heroic. I strongly disagree.
Kyle Rittenhouse defended his life. End of story. Whatever else one might say about him and his actions it all boils down to that. It was self preservation, plain and simple. There is nothing wrong with that. Self defense is our God-given, constitutionally protected right. It was his right. He acted accordingly and rightfully so.
This is the crux – the very point Kyle Rittenhouse correctly defended his actions when he was wrongfully charged and tried. This is the spearhead we need to thrust into the false balloon of the left.
One may debate about Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions before and/or after the shootings. Debate all you want, if Rittenhouse did anything the prosecution could have charged him with – they would have done so without hesitation.
The only conclusion left to make is while those actions may have been ill-advised they were not illegal. Let him without sin cast the first stone.
During closing arguments, the prosecution tried to paint those who attacked Kyle Rittenhouse as heroes. They tried to contrast Rittenhouse by anticipating, likely incorrectly, that the defense would say Kyle Rittenhouse was a hero. Both sides knew this would be a mistake. The stand the defense took from the beginning was Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense. Nothing more. Nothing less.
It was the correct and accurate defense. The men who were shot were shot because they threatened the life on Kyle Rittenhouse. The question put to the jury was essentially “was Kyle Rittenhouse reasonably in fear for his life each time he pulled the trigger?”. The jury replied in each case, “yes”.
Kyle Rittenhouse is a hero.
The grownups acted cowardly. The kid acted heroically.
Precisely!
A lot of people seem unable to distinguish between 1) "If he had known in advance what was going to happen, any reasonable person would have been better-advised to stay home in bed on that day" and 2) "What he did was neither immoral or illegal."
BOTH statements are true, in this case.

The writer is a simpleton that thinks he has developed points “no one else has seen.”
My advice is go away, do some research and try writing about things you know about because you clearly don’t understand the concept of “hero.”
There a two creeps that will no longer prey on society. That is heroic work. The third one, bicep boy, seems on the mend. Why wasn’t he prosecuted for attempted murder?
He’s a hero to me!!!
I remember during the peak of the COVID scare, the pizza boys delivering pizzas to frightened yuppies who were huddled at home binge-watching "Who Loves Raymond" were hailed as heroes. These are the same yuppies who put pretentious signs like this in their yards.
But these "essential workers" weren't heroes. They were delivering pizzas to people too afraid to go get it themselves.
When I think of hero, I think of Chesty Puller almost singlehandedly rescuing his battalion of Marines on Guadacanal who were pretty much left for dead under enemy fire.
I also think of a young kid almost singlehandedly stopping a riot and saving himself while police stood by and watched.
But is he a heterosexual metrosexual?
Frankly, the 5 time child abuser and the spouse beater should not have been walking the street in the first place.
Removing these stains from the gene pool was a heroic service to this world.
Metrosexuals are homosexuals that can’t get laid.
Andy be one of the slow ones in class
I don’t think he’s a hero either... He’s just a kid who had the establishment try to destroy him for defending himself.
He legally defended himself, he did nothing wrong, but that doesn’t make him a hero either.
He probably made some poor choices that put him in the situation that he needed to do that, but that’s not illegal either.
I'm a conservative, so I believe in conservative philosophy which you object to. Conservatives disagree with Marxists and oppose their policies. But they don't kill them. Socialists and Marxists kill the people they disagree with, not conservatives. If you agree with Marxists and socialists, that's your right, but I strongly disagree.
Ronald Reagan brought down the Soviet Union without firing a shot. But I know, now Reagan is considered "evil." I disagree.
Andy is mad. Some Conservatives are not obeying his narrative.
I never said anything about President Reagan. I loved the man.
I am not advocating violence against the left, just reciprocating their abuses in kind and severity - not just rolling over like cowards advocate.
Your weakness is your problem, not mine.
