In Austria where a new nationwide lockdown is coming into force protesters on the streets today as part of the Worldwide Day of Freedom.
In the Netherlands today the protest in Amsterdam cancelled after last night's violence in Rotterdam with two protesters shot and wounded by police.
But a protest in the southern Netherlands in Breda set to go ahead.
Commentary:
What we saw in Rotterdam last night another manifestation of left-wing elements doing a "January 6th" style demonization of anti-lockdown and anti-vaccine mandate protests.
The effect of the anarchists presence on the streets during non-violent protest serves to discredit the non-violent protesters.
The anarchist elements on the streets in protest situations serve to discredit the health freedom protests and serve the interests of the governments imposing lockdowns, mask orders and ultimately coerced vaccination.
Who do these violent protesters ultimately work for? Informants for the government, undercover law enforcement?

Their history, which they are so proud of, is very dark. Nazis, monarchies enslaving the populations, slavery, two world wars and numerous wars going back to the beginning of time, etc. etc. etc. They have done it all and it isn't pretty.
What a blog.
Australia?

Why chop it off in the middle?
No no no. I’m saying Australia. They need one of those days.
It was in today in Melbourne

I’m not sure the people in Rotterdam (who got violent) were leftwingers. One of the problems is that the peaceful protests are being ignored by their respective governments, even if they attract thousands or hundreds of thousands of people.
This means the peaceful folks are going to get frustrated, and all it takes is a few hotheads...whether anarchists or leftists or “right wingers”...to start something.
I’d say most the other people at these demonstrations have probably never been to a protest in their lives, and from what I saw in Rotterdam, it was people fleeing the violence who were shot by the cops.
Most European governments have pledged use of “maximum force” against protesters, so this may be just the beginning.
But why won’t these supposed democracies address the legitimate grievances that are bringing thousands of their law-abiding citizens into the streets?
They don’t even acknowledge the protests, except for an occasional warning that they will be dealt with harshly.
There are 2200 French police reinforcements going to the Caribbean island territory of Guadeloupe tonight including 50 anti-terrorism police.
Its become an insurrection there with fires and barricades.
The authorities say live rounds have been fired at police.
This is what you could call a COVID insurrection it started last weekend and has deteriorated into issues that include looting.
>>Sorry. Europe has no legitimacy.<<
Vorsicht, vorsicht, don’t make derogatory remarks about Europe when you have a defective voting system and a leader hell bent on destroying his own country by dictatorial means and a Congress that supports his every insane policy.
America is still better. For now. We shall see, though.
BTW, my ancestors left that sh!thole and no it wasn’t a very nice place. While we are discussing dictators, starvation, disease, oppressive monarchies.... America is (or was) great because of we learned from the failures of Europe.
Many Americans with European ancestry can make a similar claims — we are proud of our ancestry but at the same time not proud of our origins.
You’d be surprised how many GIs, after fighting in Europe, decided to stay there and never return to the US. And that trend still continues, even now. That shithole is conducive of producing Einstein, Mozart, Niels Bohr and other geniuses.BTW you don’t see any Europeans trying to illegally cross our Southern border knowing that they will become a hated minority in the US.

For all of Europe's greatness, there is equal or more evil.
And no, America is not perfect. But at least we tried to correct the wrongs. We copied what was good and adopted it and made it part of America. And anything that was bad, we tried to fix at great cost... i.e. slavery.
Best of all, it instilled a culture of independence and determination. The can-do “cowboy attitude” that many Europeans look down upon comes from fleeing cultures and governments that were oppressive and even brutal. The new immigrants to the US valued what they had... because they had virtually nothing in their home countries in Europe.
BTW, we do appreciate France and what they did for us during the Revolutionary War. However, they did it partly because of their war with England and their own self interests. But thank you France.
As I stated before, I am proud of my ancestry but not the countries that my ancestors fled from. We must not forget our ancestors and the sacrifices that they made to come to America. But once here, they thrived.
