Narconon Goes After Country Music
Mike Rinder's Blog ^ | 11/17/2021 | Mike Rinder

Scientology and its front organizations (like Narconon and CCHR) live in a world disconnected from reality. They seem oblivious to the absurdity of things they say and positions they take.

Narconon is now beginning to sound like prohibitionists, targeting county music for “romanticizing alcohol.”

Unfortunately, while contemporary country music stars continue to produce great music year after year, there are increasing incidences of romanticizing alcohol in country music lyrics, romanticizing it, glamorizing it, or even construing alcohol with happy times, carefree adventures, and the ‘good life.’

Given the harm and danger that can come from consuming alcohol, fans of country music should be mindful of the increasing prevalence of alcohol in their favorite genre. And if the alcohol side of enjoying country music begins to take over, they need to seek help as soon as possible.

For some unknown reason (maybe to fill space?) after this they go into details about the size and scope of country music in Nashville?

Scientology wants for you to stop listening to C&W music because it makes you drink.

This is about Narconon, which is an unconscienable scam. People seeking help for a drug-addicted family member are conned into putting that family member into "residential treatment" to the tune of thousands and thousands of dollars - which they later find, to their great dismay, are non-refundable. Young people typically end up running away from a Narconon facility after their parents pay $30,000 and up for "treatment."

Alcoholics Anonymous is the same - it's free, supposedly, right? But you end up paying because that's how Scientology gets its claws into you: You get sent there by the court after a drunk driving ticket, for example. They already know you have problems that they can exploit; they will find out more about you as time goes by. Do they tell you it's Scientology? I've never been to AA, but those I know who have been either already knew it was Scientology, but - more likely - they have no idea what it is. I didn't even know that until the last few years.

I know nothing about Narconon.

I do know, however, about AA, and there is ZERO Scientology, and NO money changes hands except for a paltry dollar or two donation at the end of a meeting to help support the group.

I'm unsure where you developed your mistaken views about AA, but be ready to change them.

OK, Karen.

The problem with contemporary C&W is not that it’s great music that too often glorifies drinking, but that it is so horrid and noisome that it drives people to drink.

And yet they remain silent as the TV, Movie and Music industries as a whole romanticize every immoral act, deviant behavior, and basic thug life on a daily basis.

Wonder what they think of Rap, or do they play that in their church?

I never cared much for country music (except for songs that sing of fond memories of an area someone grew up in, like Country Road, My Home's in Alabama, or Tennessee River).

But I'll take women in sun dresses any day over high maintenance women. LOL

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got run over by a damned old train

You are incorrect. There is a lot of material about this out there on the “internet” and I encourage you to research it for yourself.

The problem with AA is that they do not tell you that it’s Scientology. You’re supposed to figure it out gradually, and by the time you do, they’ve got you. That’s why no charge: It’s “religion”..!

(There stands the glass by Webb Pierce)

There stands the glass that will ease all my pain
That will settle my brain, it’s my first one today
There stands the glass that will hide all my tears
That will drown all my fear, brother I’m on my way

I’m wondering where you are tonight
I’m wondering if you are all right
I wonder if you think of me in my misery

There stands the glass, fill it up to the brim
Till my troubles grow dim, it’s my first one today

I’m wondering where you are tonight
I’m wondering if you are all right
I wonder if you think of me in my misery....
