Bell’s Palsy is supposedly 2 weeks to 6 months for symptoms to go away. But sometimes they’re permanent.

Yes.

Treated with oral Steroids and symptoms subside in a few days.

Over 40,000 Americans get Bell’s Palsy every year.

It’s a Zoster virus.

Other Zoster viruses are Chicken Pox, Shingles, Herpes simplex 1, and 2……….

GBS has about a 7% fatality rate. A fair chunk of people don’t die but don’t recover.
My Great-grandfather was fortunate. He got it from the flu vaccine in ‘75 (for two years the vaccine had a really bad run of GBS but then they figured out what was wrong and changed it).

Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)

Can be a life time gift. I got (GBS) after a swine flu shot.

I had severe pain on my lower right eye orbit and along my upper right cheek bone.

Decades later, I still get some pain in those areas, when I’m really tired or about to get a cold or mild flu. Also, that area feels warmer during these minor spells.

Basically nothing but time works. My wife gave me a Yeti wine goblet for this past Christmas. When I fill it with cold wine, and hold it against that area. The cold and the wine seem to work fairly well.

I have some pain/dull ache and sometimes throbbing, this evening due to the DST changes and not sleeping as well as normal.

They can.

Sometimes not.
I know a couple people who have never completely recovered from it.

I suppose the Christian thing for me to do is feel sorry for him.

I had GBS in my early 20’s. Was in the hospital for weeks. Took me months to walk normal again. Legs have never been quite the same since.
