Does this method affect the seasoning of a cast iron skillet? Looks like cleaning the pan is going to take more effort/time?

When we were on our cruise, they had pork ranger sausages at the buffet breakfast. Never had them before but they were great. No acidity like regular pork sausages. Anybody out there know more about them because that was the first time I ever encountered them?

Actually EASIER to clean because the bacon leaves no burnt parts behind.

“ Is there anything wrong with wrapping bacon on a machine gun muzzle and firing for about 30 seconds?”

No, it is brilliant. Actually several years ago, the defense division of the RumbaFlex corporation, which is all about convenience, designed a rail attachment specifically for cooking bacon while at the range or in the heat of battle. There was even a customizable drip pan which allowed for constant and effortless weapon lubrication. Another plus was a tasty snack when you really needed it. The drawback was the enemy could smell the bacon. It terrified most muslims, but tended to give away one’s position. This product, like most RumbaFlex innovations, was never successfully deployed.

I love brittle bacon.

Here’s the best method around.

Parchment Paper is the key.
place bacon on parchment paper.
Then on microwave safe ceramic plate.
fold the paper over the bacon so all sides are covered (keeps the grease splash down).
Cook 3-7 minutes (depends on power of MW and # of bacon slices)
When done. Shake the grease around to cover the bacon
Let set for about 2 minutes.

Enjoy.

Best bacon ever. But you need to practice to figure out the timing for your microwave and # of bacon slices. # type of bacon.

See my method above. Similar/better taste but much faster.

This.
Wet bacon keeps the fat from escaping, so it’s just undercooked or boiled.

If you watch while cooking, cast iron pan set on medium heat, bacon is done right.
Most people don’t pay attention when cooking. It’s not cupcakes, there, pilgrim.
