I don't have a problem with economic citizenship, if they pass a test on how the American system works.
But $2,500 is insanely cheap.
It aught to be at least $100k. Canada charges half a million, as I recall.

It aught to be at least $100k. Canada charges half a million, as I recall. Current EB-5 Visas for the United States requires an investment of $1 million, or $500,000 for certain targeted economic zones).

I agree. Proof that you are self sufficient, (not partaking of government largesse) $100,000 is good and have an American sponsor, and a lengthy waiting period with good behavior would be sufficient.

I would take advantage of this for my wife's sister (who I've been trying to find a way to immigrate her from Russia for years), and her son (who is actually now my adopted son, since her husband ran away from his responsibilities).
I guarantee she will vote Republican like the rest of us when she eventually becomes a US Citizen.
