It aught to be at least $100k. Canada charges half a million, as I recall.

Current EB-5 Visas for the United States requires an investment of $1 million, or $500,000 for certain targeted economic zones).

Thanks for the information on the EB-5 Visas. That is a great deal for a lot of productive people.

I considered Australia's deal, but it is not nearly as good. Invest $500K Australian, and get a visa only good for five years. An additional five years can be added, if you were a good little immigrant, and paid for all your own health care, privately.

I told Australians I understood why they were selling so much coal to China. They had to pay for the Muslim immigrants somehow... (it was a joke, but most did not laugh)

In the end, while I loved rural Australia and its people, the ever more tyrannical rule of the big city political machines in Australia convinced me the USA is the hill to fight and die on.
