9 In 10 Large Employers Concerned They Will Lose Employees Over Vaccine Mandate

In an unusual twist to the strength of the multinationals, many large corporations are worried they will lose critical employees to smaller organizations with less than 100 employees who do not have to enforce the national worker vaccine mandate.

By itself the 100 worker rule, in combination with the exemptions being provided by the federal government for some politically connected union organizations, would seem to undercut the premise of the “national health emergency.” If the COVID pandemic is such a national threat, why would any groups be excluded from the mandate? However, until the Dept of Labor rule is officially registered, court cases to hear such arguments are not possible.
A recent survey by The Society for Human Resource Management, as shared by The Hill, indicates that 9 out of 10 large employers are concerned about losing significant amounts of workers due to the federal mandate:
The Hill – […] The survey reveals uneasiness among employers over the impending workplace rule, which will require employers with 100 or more employees to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or frequent testing. They’re most concerned about losing workers amid an extremely tight labor market.
Another two-thirds of employers surveyed said that they cannot afford to pay for weekly COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated workers. […] Others are worried that they could lose unvaccinated workers to rival firms with fewer than 100 employees or to independent contracting companies that aren’t subject to the rule. (read more)
It will be interesting to see if, and how quickly, a parallel economy with a vaccination option workforce, will take root.

It's Biden. He's stubborn. He makes snap judgements and then never changes his mind.
He ran on a COVID platform, and he's taking it personally that half the country is rejecting his pleas to be vaccinated. He's angry that he missed his target vaccination rates, and now he's punishing the people for making him look bad.
I'm sure the taunts of Let's Go Brandon don't encourage him to be lenient. He learned from Obama the value of the "double down" strategy. When he encounters resistance, his solution is to hit people twice as hard as before until they relent.
That's what Biden took away from 50 years in government, how to wield power, absolutely.
We're witnessing the Big Guy in action.

Yes, I know, but he has a staff that is using his figurehead of the Presidency to push it through.
I've seen enough video of his appearances to know that he's not the slobbering dolt that I thought he was going to be. He's coherent enough to be the President, and there have to be enough people in the White House who still bow down to "Mister President" to not publicly rebuke him in the Oval Office.
Nobody has come forward with an "Anonymous" editorial in the New York Times yet, so either the Democrat Omerta is in force or Mister President is still in control. And THIS Mister President is mean, vindictive, quick to judge, and slow to change his mind once it's been made, because he was right and somebody else screwed up.

He has periods of lucidity, and that's when he's at his meanest. That's when he makes the decisions that he refuses to move off of.
Let's also not forget that while he's getting worse, these decisions were made in the past 9 months and he's now sticking to those decisions. Afghanistan was decided in April with Harris in the room, the mandate planning was in progress since Biden was talking about it back then, the border decisions were made back then, the "human" infrastructure spin was created, too.
It's the fact that he's refusing the change course now that is getting the attention. It's either him being mean, stubborn, and vindictive, or it's his staff trying to protect the agenda that they're stuck with now that Congress has taken things this far.

OSHA is threatening three states with stripping their authority to regulate workplace safety, because of covid.
Looks like state legislatures taking power away from state health offices is not going to be the last move in the game.

I think it's the difference between mid-day controlled appearances in the White House versus his impromptu appearances on the road.
He's going to give more controlled White House appearances, plus an upcoming CNN Town Hall.
Let's revisit this discussion in a few weeks and see if he oscillates between the appearance of (barely) competent and drooling vegetable.
It's those scripted and controlled White House appearances where the most damaging administration announcements emanate.

I think that after 55 years in government, that thinking gets a little warped.
He probably thinks we're lucky to have him as President, and should be more grateful for it.
