Hot diggity...moving targets.
I was on one range where you fired towards the ocean and with sailboats out there and another that was surrounded by farmland with cows all around ,LOL
People do that for free over I-580 in Oakland.
I’ve had to cease fire for deer on the range before
I was shooting once and some idiot rode over the berm on a mountain bike
But have you ever had to stop hunting because a paper target wandered into the meadow!?
They do this on Farish Street in Jackson nightly.
The DMZ in Korea is one of the world’s largest animal sanctuaries.
I hard that from a guy I used to work with. He told some stories of being on the DMZ while in the South Korean Army and how scary the rooting animals sounded at night.
Range is very well baffled. Perfectly safe.
What struck me as interesting is that his rifle has iron sights. No scope. Not easy at that range.
There’s a legend around that some Nazi type asked a Swiss what they would do if Hitler invaded. The Swiss answered “We will all fire our rifles and then go home”. Not to be dissuaded the Nazi said “What if we come with twice as many troops as you have?”. Swiss answer: “Then we will all fire our rifles twice.”
Good irons in the hands of a good shooter can be formidable. There’s a YouTube video on “9 Hole Reviews” of a Finnish Mosin being shot out to 1100 yards.
They do that over Chicago expressways all the time.
Gee, and I get worried shooting over trails 500 ft below, from slope to slope, on BLM lands. I think you are not even allowed over a mere creek.
“No scope. Not easy at that range.”
Wrong. From google earth, range is about 300 meters. Easy iron sight range.

From Taylor Homes over the Dirty Dan into the seats at Comiskey Park.
- Chicago White Sox officials said Thursday workers putting finishing touches on the new Comiskey Park found a bullet hole in the back of the center field scoreboard.
Workers then inspected seats and found bullet holes in three of them, Sox Senior Vice President Rob Gallas said.

In Switzerland you can go to the “Jungschützen” which is the juniors (15-20y) section of those shooting ranges, for free! Teenagers learn how to shoot with the rifle you shot, stgw 90, over 300m. You also learn the most important thing, gun safety! It’s very ingrained in our society, everyone I know that owns a gun has the necessary training and respect. Back when I was still a member of the shooting range, around 17 years old, I would have my personal assault rifle at home, but we would leave a piece (Verschluss idk the word in english) and the ammunition at the shooting range. I would walk through the main train station and would ride the train with the rifle on my back to go to the shooting range. No one ever bat an eye.
Same thing happens on the Crossfire, sorry I mean Crosstown in Charleston SC.
Probably what we would normally call the bolt.
That means that what you were taking home was a club.
