The Marine Corps has filed six charges against Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller over his passionate attack on the leadership mistakes that marked the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Scheller will face a misdemeanor-level special court-martial, according to Fox News.
The charges were referred by Maj. Gen. Julian D. Alford, and came a day after Scheller was released from the brig at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
Scheller ripped into senior military leadership in a series of videos and posts that began on the day a terrorist attack killed 13 U.S. service members in Kabul. He noted in his final Facebook post that he was defying orders to stop his public comments.
Scheller is accused of displaying contempt toward officials, disrespecting superior commissioned officers, willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, dereliction in the performance of his duties, failure to obey an order or regulation, and displaying conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.

Reminds me of a story I read years ago about a Soviet Soldier who criticized Joe Stalin during WW II.
He was pulled out of the battle line and sent to a gulag. He later escaped and got out of Russia through the Himalayas to India.
By woofing about not needing Trump’s help, they can’t paint him as a a Trump associate.
The question now is the status of his pension.
He was probably told to badmouth President Trump by his lawyer. The simple logic: if he badmouths Trump, he will be convicted of misdemeanors and can retire. If he doesn’t, he will be convicted of felonies and sentenced to many years.
The people railroading him are total shits. If he doesn’t understand, president Trump will be quietly told, “nothing personal”, please don’t hold it against him.
I hold out hope that he’s playacting.
Trump did not divide the country. the Marxists and their media cartel did.
I did major deep dive research on Trump, his background, life, family in 2015. I was blown away at his generosity and acts of goodwill as well as his friendship with Rudy while Rudy was taking down the Mob and Donald was mixing with the Mob in NJ (wink wink).
Trump literally risked his life, and I mean literally in every sense, to be our President. The number of assassination attempts on him have never been made public. With history as a guide, he should be dead. He’s alive because of generational private security.
So either Scheller is informed and playing double agent, or he’s misinformed, uninformed or has a screw loose. I can’t subscribe to the latter because he had so many years of exemplary service. He might have a wife or sister that are rabidly Anti-Trump. We don’t know.
My mother was a widow too early. When she remarried in her senior years, I found her new companion to be a really good guy, a conservative like me. He and I were like-minded. But I have a sister that I haven’t talked to in years. She’s rabidly Anti-Trump. I can say with certainly that she caused my Mother and her husband-companion to divorce after ten years. The hostility caused by TDS in the family was over the top.
Maybe Scheller is going through something similar. We’ll have to wait and see to find out if we ever do. For now I’ll watch him in the years ahead.
I can say this, TDS is real and I have never understood it. There are some Americans that are so against Trump that there is no way to persuade them that he’s a 99% righteous human being which he is. The other 1% is when he is ill-advised and hasn’t had time to be properly briefed. He admits no one can understand everything so he has to rely on people to get him solid information. When they make mistakes, he can suffer.
Pence, Sessions, Fauci.
He once said his main fault is his heart is too big, to a fault. He wants the best for everyone but that doesn’t stop some from stabbing him in the back.
The good news is that Trump draws people to him over time. Many who were against him have come around. More and more people that identified as ‘liberal’ are now self-identifying as ‘moderate’. No question Trump’s support is growing. We’ll have to see how Scheller leans in the years ahead.

What Biden people let happen in Afghanistan is worse than anything I remember as a kid in the 60s happening in Vietnam. I was a Vietnam Era Veteran in the 1970s just as the military was withdrawing. I never got shipped into combat but I knew a lot of guys coming back and the stories were bad, very bad. But from what I am hearing, the stories in Afghanistan under Biden are worse and there is no reason for it.
Afghanistan is a real debacle and there is no excuse for letting it happen, none.
So it’s not surprising that people would rally around a stellar Marine who spoke out of rank. But let’s see if he can make amends for his comments about Trump. I know if he did, Trump would forgive him in a heartbeat.

A special court martial has a board of three unless the accused elects for a Judge only trial.

If he publicly bad mouthed Trump for a lighter sentence/punishment, that would make him a chump, and someone who would say anything to save his own hide. That would make his character and his situation even worse from my perspective.

I'd guess he's not playacting as he keeps suggesting he's all about honor, responsibility and doing what is right etc. He knows if he backpedals all his Trump attacks he'll appear no different than the commanders he spent time publicly body slamming.
He has TDS and hates Trump, telling him he would rather sit in jail than get his support. So sit in jail, rot there too.
Yep, I have no sympathy for him since learning of his TDS problem.
His would likely be a General Officer Art 15, very serious punishment.
