The Marine Corps has filed six charges against Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller over his passionate attack on the leadership mistakes that marked the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Scheller will face a misdemeanor-level special court-martial, according to Fox News.
The charges were referred by Maj. Gen. Julian D. Alford, and came a day after Scheller was released from the brig at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
Scheller ripped into senior military leadership in a series of videos and posts that began on the day a terrorist attack killed 13 U.S. service members in Kabul. He noted in his final Facebook post that he was defying orders to stop his public comments.
Scheller is accused of displaying contempt toward officials, disrespecting superior commissioned officers, willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, dereliction in the performance of his duties, failure to obey an order or regulation, and displaying conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.

And Maj. Gen. Julian D. Alford is an ass and a disgrace. From personal experience.
They’ve got him on Conduct unbecoming. That’s basically what you get charged when they can’t get you on anything else.
they cant handle the truth!
This the one who bad mouthed Trump? Big mistake on his part. A real strategic eff up.
“Scheller will face a misdemeanor-level special court-martial, according to Fox News.”
Captains mast. Non judicial. Article 15.
Not a “court martial.”. Article 32.
Journalist are a smart bunch. They know so much that isn’t true.

Alford is the face of a moribundly corrupt institution. The communist long march through all of our institutions is nearly complete.
Sadly many here want him locked up forever because he dared criticize Trump.
And yet Vindman gets his full pension and is lauded for doing the same thing to Trump.
I think that was his lawyer making him say that. If he had been grateful to 45, he might have had other charges such as violating the Chain of Command. Trump might have also been implicated.
Scheller I think might say in the years ahead that he’s grateful to Trump.
Article 15? I’ve had those. LOL.
#11.
If he publicly bad mouthed Trump for a lighter sentence/punishment? That would make his character and his situation even worse from my perspective.
Vindman gets his pension AND a fake job for probably life. Not a bad deal for treason against a sitting POTUS from your perch on the WH staff.
There are lots of times when saying and doing nothing is the correct response. This is one of those times.
As a side thought, I’m reminded of the Hitler trial. His prosecution gave him a nation wide platform and made this relatively unknown man into a household word. Prosecution has some definite disadvantages. This is one.
Good point. But note he had more than $2 million raised on his behalf.
He said he didn’t want Trump’s support.
Sometimes it’s smarter to be the opposite of what you are.
General George Washington was a master liar. (true)
George Washington would never tell a lie. (fable)
Different contexts demand different tactics.
just the other day he was saying that he’d prefer to stay in jail than have the Trumps raise money for him. Maybe he’ll get his wish.
Said he didnt want or need anything from PDJT and says PDJT is responsible for all the divisiveness in the country..... So......
He violated the chain of command.
That is his crime, and why he is going to be attacked.
I will be honest, I figured they would throw the book at him. There must be a number people pulling for him
