The world is a depressing place today. So much so that I have become so wrapped up in the idiocy, idolatry and corruption we are cursed with that I tend to forget how blessed I am to live in the USA despite the evil that surrounds me.

I went for a walk early this morning near the Port of LA with at least 50 container ships anchored off the coast and felt depressed and hopeless seeing that, but then watched the sunrise. It reminded me that life itself is a blessing and there will always be a new day full of beauty and new opportunities.

I knelt in the sand, bowed my head, praised and thanked the Lord, and felt my spirit renewed which reminded me that life is not perfect but the Lord always promises us new day.

I read the blurb and sometimes take the quiz regarding the picture on the Bing page when my computer opens each day. It reminds me of unique places, people, animals, history, etc. around the world, and that not everything is politics, violence, hatred, etc.

I’m grateful for the sunrise and the sunset every morning and evening. When I look at the sky and watch daylight creep in and the beautiful sunsets I feel like I’m part of the whole universe and I find that comforting.

I’m grateful for the roof over my head, for a well stocked pantry, for not feeling anxious or depressed.

How beautiful!

I am thankful for a 70 degree day with sunshine and breeze allowing us another couple of hours on on our screened in porch after-and before-trios of too cool and rainy Fall days.

Yet another blessing despite our ugly world.
