I... Don’t remember this. I was 13 in 2000, just in 8th grade, so perhaps my parents didn’t want me to hear about it. I also have a horrible memory, which doesn’t help.
Good God, that is... Horrifying. I thought Cannibal Island in the USSR was fvcked up. I mean, it is, but this is a huge portrayal of herd mentality. At least Cannibal Island was for some modicum of survival.

There was some science fiction story I read when I was a youth in which a dystopian society had degenerated to a point that was less alarming than what is described here. Might have been by Harlan Ellison.
