My vendors for my tiny $700K sales a year pizza restaurant are constantly out of basics. Paper, food, etc. I can get plenty of Italian sausage but not regular pork sausage. Two weeks ago they were out of pepperoni.

Cost have risen for everything.

There's more going on than just supply chains or some such. I need a certain shoe because of a leg and foot that swell. I used to find them on sale for $45. Nope! $70, IF you can find them.
I order cat food from Chewy. A flat of 24 cans has gone from about $15 to $18, IF they have it at all.

Just look little bit south of Florida. There is a country called Cuba. They have had shortages for like sixty years.
Their explanations - shortages of people, supply chain, etc.
But these shortages are only temporary, as they tell you.

Yeah, well his prices for containers is way off. I have had several suppliers tell me they are paying $22,000 as standard, not $16K.

Although IMO, it is worse than it looks and it is going to get worse because none of the causes are actually being addressed.

The article does not make a concise case for what specifically is causing shortages. Anecdotal stories do not a case make.

If you aren’t ready for The Big One by now, you never will be. How many warning shots over the brow does one need to get into survival mode?

By now, everyone who can, should switch over to the bidet attachment — and not tremble at the thought of a toilet paper shortage. One of those large packs of microfiber towels will replace an endless supply of paper towels. Buy water purifiers and purify your own water rather than buying endless bottles of the same thing.

And don’t sweat the shortage of ice cream and pizzas. If worse comes to worst, most people can go without eating for many months — and end up far healthier for it because they’re not consuming all that junk food that is predisposing them to all the comorbidities.

The Bible and all those books of wisdom advises one to prepare for the worst of times even when it seems it can never happen — or merely hopes it never will. There is nothing more important to do than be prepared for the worst — and if it doesn’t happen, so much the better. That is what all that retirement planning is about as well. You build up a margin of reserve rather than expecting that everything will go perfectly.

Sometimes one doesn’t live forever — and bad things can happen. That should not be news to anyone — even the Faucis of the world.

Shiite just got real! ;)

Store bought cookies? It is an affront to everything I hold dear in this world!

You actually give no reason

IMO, The REASON is the supply ships unable to unload BECAUSE the regulations President Trump eliminated that greased every wheel of commerce, and initiated the greatest economy in YEARS .... were instantly put back in place by the satanic joe bidet !

We aren't stocked, because stock is not allowed into the country.

I just went to our local Best Buy to buy a printer. They had about twenty display models but all said “temporarily unavailable.” There were three individual boxes left. We are Venezuela.

One knowledgeable source posted a YouTube video showing hundreds of cargo ships parked off of every major American port, plus lots of ships waiting to pass through the Panama Canal. He claims that 10% of all of the cargo containers in the world are stalled on those ships. The Feds’ Transportation Dept. has mandated 24 hour per day operation, which will only make matters worse. The main reason for these logistics backups (aside from lockdowns and deaths due to COVID or jabs) is said to be workers and truck drivers who won’t work for wages that don’t let them adequately support their families.

Five reasons for the shortages, imo:
1) the “essential workers” who do these jobs got sick. (including USDA inspectors)
2) ‘essential workers’ used the out that they were ‘afraid’ to come to work to get unemployment plus state bonus, which was more in the bank than a warehouse or cannery or slaughterhouse or harvest worker would get going back to work. States paying illegals unemployment.
3) food mfg/warehouse slowdowns/shutdowns due to outbreaks
4) raw material shortage - steel, plastics/cardboard
5) not enough drivers can pass a drug test or are willing to take local haul (lower paying) jobs over long-haul jobs. Short hauls can make more as uber food delivery drivers.

Hey business butt munches. PAY MORE. We want stuff. Yes we will pay a few pennies more on the dollar for it if the staff can afford to eat.

What he said. When prices vary wildly nobody wants to order anything.

Filed under Biden because I don’t have a Carter Folder.

Maybe I should just rename it Biden-Carter or maybe just BC. Like Before Christ? Nah. I got it. BC for Biden Cabal for whoever is running things not named Biden. Check.

Note lack of my trademarked smiley. Crap.
