Story at a glance
A Washington Post-ABC News poll asked unvaccinated workers whose employers have yet to impose a vaccine mandate what they were likely to do if being vaccinated was required. The poll found 16 percent of unvaccinated workers would get the shot, 35 percent would ask for a medical or religious exemption and 42 percent would quit. Without an exemption, 18 percent said they would comply and 72 percent said they would quit.

I already did. Mandate was imposed, so I retired. I was fortunate to be in the position to do that; I can’t imagine the stress that those who have to keep working feel when faced with this tyranny.
don’t quit. make them fire you. that’s how my wife got her exemption, for now. document everything they do.
This looks to be one of those rare circumstance in which the employees may have their bosses by the b*lls.
Excellent advice.
I am with that 70%.

My job requires it, I got it. Now I’m maneuvering to get all my finances in line to exit before the endless rounds of booster shots are required. Hopefully everything can get lined up in a month or two. Three at worst.

For those of you who had Covid-19 and recovered this is an article about a lawsuit whose end result was that natural immunity is the same as vaccination.
Save it for your attorney.
I have agonized over this every single hour of every single day since I found out a few months ago that vaccinations were going to be mandated.
No kidding. It has been eating me from the inside out. I am the sole breadwinner in my family, and the sole source of insurance. I won’t be able to get a job in my field if I quit.
They are all doing it in my profession.
Doing just that. Waiting till they fire me if don’t get the exemption. Even if have to get nasally violated regularly 😳

Just be totally honest with yourself.
If you want to be free someday you will have to figure out a way to escape from your masters.
My son’s company was going to mandate, they have since backed down. Looks like their clients are not going to be too successful mandating either.
My son had already been circulating his resume, he was so sure he was going to be fired. He is in his 20s, has been exposed and worked around covid daily since the beginning. It was crazy to think he needed to have a vax when his immune system obviously is working just fine.
If I had to choose between my livelihood and my concerns about the vaccines, I would assert a religious exemption and then fight with everything I had to force them to accept it.
yup. they want you to quit. that’s the easiest way out for them.
I don’t know what profession, but is it something you could do as an independent contractor?
I am already vaccinated. Because of what I do, I had no problem taking the vaccine, even if it does end up harming me or not protect me, because that is what I have done my entire career. I do it for the patients, because that is what I have always done every year. I am in no way anti-vaccine.
If they had not mandated it, I would probably gone and got the booster when it comes out. I understand people reject that but...it is my choice, nobody elses.
But when they mandated it, that changed the dynamic completely. My employer, who I have cherished and worked my ass off for decades, has made an enemy of me.
I cannot adequately express the disillusionment or anger I feel over this.
Not getting rid of me easy, laf.
My wife just quit her corporate healthcare position in Colorado for another company in Florida. Same goes for about 4 others who left her company in Colorado for Florida and South Carolina. Her company is mandating the jab by 30 September. People are quitting in droves.
