Prayers up, FRiend.
You mentioned a lack of hope. The Bible talks a lot about hope because the world can be a difficult place with all sorts of challenges and obstacles. Some natural (due to sin), some due to our own sin, some due to other people, etc. But God is above it all and is KING. And - He LOVES you!
“I believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24)
May God give you strength and peace of spirit as you face your challenges. And try not to fear too much of what may or may not happen in the future.
An aside to my previous post about fear. In the great book “Robinson Crusoe” he is stranded on an island but after the initial shock he gets busy at making his surroundings better.
It has been a long time since I’ve read it, but it starts out with him making a typical camp, and he hunts and forages and is surviving fairly well.
After quite some time (a year??) he ventures to the far side of the island. He spots a sandy beach - and footprints! Doesn’t see anybody though. Are the prints those of rescuers!? Or pirates? Or cannibals!!??
He races back to his camp on his side of the island. I can’t recall if he builds walls then or if he already had them up for wild animals. But - he then spends a long time (another year!?) hiding behind those walls, rarely venturing out for fear of cannibals.
I don’t recall if it was while he was in hiding or once he had come out again, but he says the following when remembering his early time on the island before going into hiding:
“How stupendous is the goodness of Providence, which sets such narrow bounds to the sight and knowledge of human nature, that while men walk in the midst of so many dangers they are kept serene and calm, by having the events of things hid from their eyes and knowing nothing of those many dangers that surround them, till perhaps they are dissipated and vanish away.”
I think in the age of the internet with SO MUCH information (and missinformation) at our finger tips the dangers are magnified.
Hmm. Another quote from the book regarding Providence that may be helpful:
“I then fell into a contemplation of the secret springs of Providence, and how wonderfully we are delivered, when insensible of it; and when intricated in uncertain mazes or labyrinths of doubt or hesitation, what secret hint directs us in the right way, when we intended to go out of it, nay, perhaps contrary to our business, sense or inclination.”
Bro, one thing I forgot to let you know that you should really take to heart is that you are The Lord’s problem.
And your problems are really His.
Pray for His direction.
He’ll let you know what needs to be done.
There might be some inconveniences involved, but this is a growth period for you it seems like. I’m currently having one myself and its not fun at all.
Keep your eyes on the prize (Heaven with Jesus and eternity beyond) not your current circumstances which the enemy will really try to convince you are insurmountable. It’s a lie!
Continued prayers! 🙏
