Several of the U.S. service members who were killed in an Islamic State-perpetrated terror attack in Afghanistan were identified Friday as tributes poured in honoring their sacrifice.
Marine David Lee Espinoza, a 20-year-old from Laredo, Texas, was reportedly among the 13 servicemen who were killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber outside the international airport in Kabul, which left another 18 service members injured and more than 100 others dead.
The Laredo Police Department, which lowered the flags outside its headquarters in honor of Espinoza, thanked the fallen Marine for his service.
“Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the family of United States Fallen Marine, David L. Espinoza, as well as to his friends and fellow Marines,” the police department wrote on Facebook Friday. “Semper Fi. Thank you for your service.”
Maxton Soviak, a Navy hospital corpsman in his early 20s, was also killed in Thursday’s blast while stationed outside Hamid Karzai International Airport, helping to oversee the evacuation of thousands of Americans and Afghan allies, family said.
The father of Kareem Nikoui, another young Marine who reportedly died in the blast, said his son “loved what he was doing” and that he “always wanted to be a Marine.”
“He really loved that [Marine Corps] family. He was devoted. He was going to make a career out of this, and he wanted to go,” Steve Nikoui told the Daily Beast. “No hesitation for him to be called to duty.”
“I haven’t gone to bed all night,” Nikoui said. “I’m still in shock. I haven’t been able to grasp everything that’s going on.”
Nikoui said he plans to travel to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, which welcomes fallen service members, to pick up his son’s remains.
Marine Rylee McCollum of Bondurant, Wyoming, was also among those killed Thursday, and his wife is expecting a baby in three weeks, his sister said.
But from everything we have seen on the internet the message that a couple of soldiers left in one bar along with a shoot they ordered for their dead brother was the thing that got me heartbroken even more.
The bar owner decided to share the photo of the message as well as her own personal opinion of the situation with us!
Images below:
RIP heroes our “President” might forget about you but American patriots will remember you forever!
OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion
Semper Fi!
the website probably ought to learn that a shot is not a shoot
Bkmk
None of us can truly fathom the full extent of his debacle and the perfidy that brought it about. We are grateful for your son’s service and mourn your loss.
That brought the tears on......
This surrender done just so Biden can brag is UNACCEPTABLE, UNFORGIVABLE and will not be tolerated.
What’s a shoot?
It’s someone who didn’t proofread their article.
Either it’s a “shot” or a “shooter.”
I am absolutely infuriated, absolutely disgusted, NONE of these heroes would be dead were it not for these criminal domestic enemies who denied the people the right to a fair election. Almost ALL of these heroes were in their early 20s!!

A-hole Biden spends more time in his basement in Delaware than anywhere else. I wonder if he or the scum from the Pentagon could be bothered to go to Dover. P*ssy doesn’t have the balls to face the families.
None of these men would have been killed this week if we had pulled out of there in May as originally planned. They just wouldn’t have been there. I know, I know, the withdrawal in May could have gone haywire too, but I doubt it. President Trump had the plan/deal all set and these morons screwed it all up and cost our guys their lives.
Not to make an issue of it but two women from our military died too.
Good men die especially the young doing what the believe. We old hacks should not be squandering their blood. The Afghan NEO mission as it exists today was made through decisions that lost more loved ones than needed, will cause more death before it gets done, and will set into motion events that will see destruction at a larger scale. All for some petty political decisions and points rather than the greater good. Hoping the enemy will help you in your mission is never a plan, Just planned suicide.
.....sad to read this.... I had not heard of any female casualties...was this from that suicide bomber or from something else...? which branch of service...? again, the media have not reported on any of this, so a clarification would be deeply appreciated...I served my country for over 28 years in its Armed Forces, but today, I would not do it....
He better NOT show up. What a total kick to the balls that would be.
THIS ENTIRE THING IS HIS FAULT!!! If i was the parent of one of those that
died I would tell that bastard what I thought of him. F him!!!!
....from time imemmorial, old men have sent their young men off to war and die... that’s the nature of mankind, I guess....what steams my clams is these be-medaled four-star generals, et al, who appear so concerned and determined, etc. on the evening teevee news...as we used to say in the good ol’ military, they don’t know sh*t from Shinola...they all look like Russian generals, admirals, etc with their rows upon rows of “fruit salad” medals.... disgusting....
It still blows my mind they Milley said Bagram wasn’t “ value added”
Yes, and with all the equipment left behind in Afghanistan, it is not just likely but certain that MANY more lives will lost!
:(!
The women killed in the Kabul bombing were both Marines - Sgt. Johanny Rosario of Lawrence, MA and Sgt. Nicole L. Gee of Sacramento, CA.
They have photos of all KIA’s in the Daily Mail. (BothUK and USA edition) I believe both were USMC. One of the girls was holding a child in her hands. DM said was last photo taken of her.
