The rapid Taliban advance stranded several thousand Americans in Kabul and across Afghanistan. The US Embassy in Kabul has urged Americans first to shelter in place and then to make their way to the airport for evacuation. It warned, however, that it could not guarantee the safety of the routes to the airport. That may be sage advice: The Taliban have shut off access to the airport. Bold Afghans now share videos via social media of Taliban thugs using whips and pipes to beat men, women, and children who try to go to the airport. Administration officials like National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, White House Spokesman Jen Psaki, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin refuse to guarantee that they will evacuate all Americans.

The only reason the media is going after Biden is because Harris is the next play.
Where’s my Captain Obvious sign..I know its here somewhere.
It already is
It already is a hostage crisis. The Taliban just haven’t gotten around to making their demands yet.
I predict that when the Taliban soon hold thousands of U.S.citizens trapped in Kabul for Ransom, that as condition for release they will demand payment of Afghanistan Gold, 💰and not the phony paper, 💸 printed money from the Biden regime.
FROZEN ASSETS
August18, 2021
Afghanistan has 22 tons of gold in a New York vault. The Taliban can’t touch it.
The Biden administration has frozen the Afghanistan government’s holdings in US banks, preventing the Taliban from accessing billions of dollars—a major, if indeterminate, part of the country’s foreign reserves.
Among the assets trapped in this freeze is a stash of gold bars deposited in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. According to figures published by Afghanistan’s central bank, the deposit amounted to roughly 22 tons of gold as of December 2020, the most recent date for which this data is available. At current prices benchmarked by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), the gold is worth around $1.25 billion

They observed Biden’s weakness over the previous 8 months and that no doubt emboldened them. They know weakness when they see it. They will keep pushing because there are no reasons for them not to.
It's hard to imagine that President Harris will last long, so they might get their wish.
