Thousands of U.S. citizens are trapped in Kabul with no ability to get to the airport. As Taliban soldiers go door to door, searching for Westerners, these U.S. citizens are now reaching out to Washington for help.
“We’ve been screaming at the State Department over this issue,” one senior GOP Senate staffer told me. “This is a s---show everyone saw coming, and they didn’t do a damn thing about it until about 24 hours ago, after days of pounding on them by the Hill.”
State Dept and DOD have two options: negotiate safe passage for American citizens with the Taliban, if possible, or send the military into the city to bring Americans back to the airport before the Taliban gangs find them.
If they saw it coming, why didn’t they leave earlier?
Oh...you’re talking about the State Dept people? The Americans that they’re talking about aren’t State employees or contractors.
They don’t live out and about. They all live in the Embassy compound, surrounded by Marines and security contractors and have been evacuated or will be getting evac’d. There’s room on those planes for those folks.
I think this article is talking about the other American’s that are there, contractors, journalists, media, etc that are not government folks.
This has nothing to do with the State Dept, OGA, or other government entities. For them, you’re right but they don’t get in trouble. Even if they get written up, they challenge it, say they have PTSD and it goes away.
I think I got it now.

What evidence do you have of this happening now? I’m not saying it is not happening but I have not seen any videos or first hand reports. Perhaps the Taliban are smarter than they were 20 years ago and will wait until we are completely out of the country before they start slaughtering the people who helped us. What a mess! No more nation building!

I won’t give specifics , but I heard a leader of a humanitarian organization talk about a month ago.
They had people there, but knew enough to pull them out back then.
So if this small organization knew enough to get their people out; how could our government be so incompetent with their vast resources?

Hillary got extremely lucky. Had it not been for the 4 special operators, who came to the aid of the State Dept. employees, there would have been hostages or a slaughter.
Well, the vast majority of Americans did NOT vote for e Democrat administration, so you can’t calll them “dumb and dumber”.

Sounds like Benghazi. Lots of complaints and requests for help ahead of time, all ignored, and when the killing starts there's no one coming to help.
Defeat in war has consequences.
Make sure that RINO-controlled state legislatures, secretaries of state, governors, and members of Congress face those consequences in the 2022 Mid-Terms.
From Hillary’s POV that was a disaster. No one was supposed to get out alive to tell tales.
