Remember the Alamo?

In 1836, James Bowie, William B. Travis, and 183-189 men defended the Alamo in Texas from one determined Mexican general-Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.  The odds were not favorable for the brave men defending the Alamo against Santa Anna’s 1,800-6,000 attackers.  The outcome was inevitable and 13days after the initial attack, Santa Anna was victorious.  Those Texas defenders were tough and their death became a symbol of historic resistance.

Fast forward 185 years and apparently the sacrifice of those brave men have been forgotten.

Scenario #1: Biden refuses to shut the southern border and invites anyone and everyone to cross into Texas unimpeded.  Transportation for those who illegally invade our country will be provided to Texas towns under the cover of darkness in multiple clandestine operations.

Immigrants may be infected with COVID, POLIO, MALARIA, or a host of other infectious diseases but Joe and his handlers don’t care.  Texas is a red state and must be punished for voting for Trump in 2020.

Apparently, Joe forgot that YOU DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS and 2022 is right around the corner.

Scenario #2: The GOP in Texas planned to tighten the voting laws which included a ban on drive-through and 24-hour voting. Thirty Democratic members of the Texas congress jumped on a plane and fled the state to avoid losing a vote on the house floor.  A picture of those grinning yahoos flying to Washington DC spread across the Internet.  They looked like a bunch of six-year-olds going to Disneyland.  Actually, they reminded me of cowardly lions heading to Emerald City to buy some courage in the gift shop.

The Texas Supreme Court just approved the House-Sergeant-at Arms to take the 52 into custody and deliver them to the House. I would send the Texas Rangers to DC, dress all of the fugitives in orange jumpsuits, shackle them together and drive them slowly back to Texas.  That should permanently wipe those stupid grins off their faces. Just a thought.

The Democrat Party is a criminal organization.

Remember how Gen. Sam Houston took revenge by kicking Santana’s ass a few weeks later at the Battle of San Jacinto? Apparently, Houston’s forces literally caught Santana’s forces napping (during a siesta).

Nuts. The texians were the ‘invaders’ who didn’t assimilate and abide by what ‘Mexico’ wanted. In the end, the invaders won. War is migration sped up, just like now.

A typical college student today majoring in theatre arts would say it’s that time when undocumented immigrants were violently attacked by white slave owners because they wanted some scalps to sell to the Russians.

Actually the Texians wanted Santa Ana to abide by the Mexican Constitution of 1824. He refused and thus the revolt.

You are partially correct. The texicans were land owners who wanted freedom and representation for the taxes they paid. Santa Ana was a tyrant and absolute ruler.

Biden could learn from Santa Anna on the short-term quelling of problematic immigrants, but he would have to also learn from Santa Anna’s longer-term mistakes.

Nonsense. When Santa Anna won the presidency he declared Mexico wasn't ready for democracy. He revoked the constitution of 1824 and declared himself President for Life.

Eleven Mexican states went into rebellion over this tyrannical act. Santa Anna spent 2 years putting down the rebellion in the interior of Mexico before he came to Texas. In the end Texas was the only Mexican state to win it's freedom.

Yeah, Santa Anna played a mean guitar!

Well before Santa Anna became pres, Mexico tried to prevent more migration by anglos. That didn’t stop the hordes moving in. Just like now, which is my point. Migration destroys.

It was at dawn, and the Yellow Rose was making sure Santa Anna stayed in bed. My uncle (4 times removed) fired the first shot. Like the Alamo, it was over very quickly. Santa Anna couldn’t escape because uncle and another man burned Vince’s bridge which crossed the high running Vince’s Bayou. Santa Anna was captured wearing the Yellow Rose’s dress. He was allowed to remove it, revealing his uniform, before his surrender to Houston. He did have his wooden leg on also.

(Caution, some of this is oral family history and details
may be at odds with other accounts.)

Here’s a link to the painting of the surrender in the Texas Capital:

Houston was wounded in the battle and sitting under the tree. Uncle is in buckskins listening with hand to his ear because he didn’t hear well at all.

they also wanted their slaves. The institution had been outlawed in Mexico in 1829.

“The texians were the ‘invaders’ who didn’t assimilate and abide by what ‘Mexico’ wanted.”

The Texians were brought to Texas at the request of the Government of Spain and I have a copy of one of the handwritten deeds to prove it. The deed is signed by Stephan F. Austin as the Baron de Bastrop (he was the representative of the Spanish Govt., and his brother James E.B. Austin.

Not all were they. Prior to 1830 and such, then ‘mexico’ got overrun with immigration and said no mas to large colonies and anglo migration. Crockett was a illegal alien.

When all government ...in little as in great things... shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power; it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another, and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated." -- Thomas Jefferson, 1821

DC has lost control of the southern border and America is no longer a sovereign nation. Texas must secede and defend itself or it will not survive.

“Despite their political differences, Crockett famously came to Andrew Jackson’s aid during an assassination attempt. On January 30, 1835, the two men were part of a crowd of lawmakers leaving the U.S. Capitol after a state funeral. As Jackson passed near the East Portico, a crazed gunman named Richard Lawrence emerged from a throng of spectators and shot at him with two pistols—both of which miraculously misfired. “Old Hickory” supposedly responded by whacking Lawrence with his cane. Crockett, meanwhile, was one of several bystanders who disarmed the would-be assassin and wrestled him to the ground.” A Mason helping a fellow Mason.
Congressman Crockett lived a very colorful life.
My across the street neighbor was named for him from his mother’s side of the family—many descendants.
There was at one time a nuclear weapons system named for
him too.
