It is summer, it is August, it is hot but not nearly as hot as I have seen it in my nearly 7 decades.
The grass is burned up and we are watering every evening what we want to keep alive. It is the same as every hot summer. Just about every summer is hot.
Years ago I bought an Airstream and promised I would never spend another hot August here in Oklahoma. Instead I would drag the Airstream to the mountains of northern New Mesico and relax on the bank of some mountain born stream. Still have not done that. Still too many things that need my attention in the summer around here. The Airstream still sits ready to go in the barn.

Let’s just wait it out. Give it a couple of months. I think that by October and November, the weather will have cooled ocnsiderably. That cooling is due to climate change, you denier...next you'll give me some crazy talk that snow in January isn't caused by man.

Oh no.. If Mount Tambora erupted today and caused 'The year without a Summer', journalist would cause it on Climate Change.
Past, journalists, it is summer, it is usually hot...

It's the summertime variant of the Polar Vortex.
I kayak and here in Connecticut I don't remember such a chilly summer. Now that we finally have some normal summer heat all the TV meteorologists are hyping the "Heat Index".

Oh, and it’s going to rain in 3 hrs.

I watch the local news out of Raleigh, NC in the morning. It was 80 at around 6:30 am and going up to a high of 115 today.
Of course that was a heat index number, what ever that is. Then rarely report the actual temperature anymore. I have to use the outdoor thermometer to get that number.
