Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Congress in June that he wanted to understand “white rage,” why “thousands of people” tried “to assault this building and … overturn the Constitution of the United States of America.”
If Milley really wants to understand the “rage” of the American people he should start by asking why he and his fellow generals can’t win any wars. As a Marine Corps officer who served at the tail end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, I saw firsthand the rapid ideological transformation pervading the military in the wake of these disasters in the Middle East.
Unable to win wars overseas, the military’s leaders went “woke.” Currying ideological favor is easier than trying to end insurgencies. It is also necessary if military leaders want to keep the gravy train of taxpayer funding. Donald Trump’s America First foreign policy and his devastating critique of George Bush and Barack Obama in the run-up to the 2016 election put the military-industrial complex on high alert. Trump was pushing the American right-wing away from the expensive and unending foreign interventions the military-industrial complex needed in order to justify its existence.

Wow. Military, DOJ, CDC - every institution and organization of Fed.gov is showing themselves (at least to half the population) to be corrupt, incompetent, and highly biased political bureaucratic hacks.
How does the USA fix this??
Probably a direct problem if the Military does not have a justification for its large budget, it finds enemies.
What needs to happen is a retargeting in the Pentagon back to fighting communism which is still a threat from China.
“How does the USA fix this??”
We used to be able to fix it with the vote.
They just short circuited that.
All about money and power ..which includes having sex with minors and any other Sodom and Grommorah type activity.
How does the USA fix this??

By voting only for people who COMMIT to doing everything in their power to shrink the size of government. And then holding the accountable for efforts and results.
Both parties keep feeding Fedzilla. The bigger it gets the fewer freedoms we have and the more indebted we get. Its time to get back to federalism by seriously cutting budgets, ending duplicative functions, punishing intolerable waste, and forcing bureaucracies to be accountable.
The vote was just to decide which corrupt team got the better part of the spoils. "The vote" isn't a panacea, there is no panacea. Democracies lead to decadence and then dictatorship, or some other heavy-handed form of government resembling dictatorship.
The rulers have measured the people, and decided that the people don;t deserve to rule themselves, but at the same time, they think it is important that the people THINK they (the people) are in control.
You have the vote, therefore you consent to whatever the government does. If you don;t you are an anarchist. Tired old rhetoric.
The people in charge are not good people, the systems are not good systems, and eventually the thing collapses on its own. Stand back and watch.
The military has been a mess for a long time.
Remember Eisenhower’s last speech.
Someone once explained what is wrong with the modern American military.
To paraphrase:
“There are Political Generals and there are Combat Generals.”
Today’s military is run by Political Generals.
From my reading of American history, there has only been one Political General that won a war. Dwight Eisenhower
General Milley is a "trans" person in every sense, and he chose to be exactly what he became. He 'transed" from a high-ranking Army officer into a high school girl.
When you become a high school girl and plan to transform your military organization into self-loathing racists, you need an enemy you can still beat i.e. a non-existent enemy. I'm sure Milley wants to start issuing medals for those fighting in the First White Privilege War.
It should last a while, but he can declare victory any time he needs a victory. Unfortunately, there is no one out there on the other side who can surrender to him.
> there has only been one Political General that won a war. Dwight Eisenhower <
And Eisenhower was political out of necessity, for the good of the country. It wasn’t easy to keep the USA, the UK, and the USSR all pulling together to defeat Hitler. But Ike pulled it off.
And as a side point, neither Ike nor Truman could have stopped the USSR from taking Eastern Europe. That would have started another major war and the US public never would have stood for it.
My brother and sister in law were just up visiting. He is about to make General. The way he kept from being purged from the ranks during the Obama years was by sucking up to leftist ideals.
This year it has gotten exponentially worse. He was lecturing us about how “diversity” is the military’s greatest strength and other equally distasteful nonsense. We used to be proud of his success, but at this point we can see it for what it is.
It is very bad... our military has been set up for failure.
I view Vietnam as an Operational loss, but a Strategic victory.
The Soviet Union was defeated.
We assumed after WWII that jumping out of an airplane made the best combat leaders.
It ain’t necessarily so.
Then, we assumed that suffering produced the best leaders (badge getters).
It ain’t necessarily so.
Then, we assumed that the skinny good runners made the best combat leaders.
It ain’t necessarily so.
Henry Clay: I’d rather be right than be President.
Today’s top brass: I’ll prostitute myself to get another star.
It’s like everything else in government. Failure isn’t just an option, it is practically mandatory. There are no consequences even for criminal behavior if you identify yourself with the leftists.
Afghanistan never had a chance for success because they were counting on the notion that “democracy!” always wins, no matter what. A bunch of drug dealers right out of the dark ages couldn’t care less about democracy or the classical liberal ideas that the left thinks they own.
We didn’t bother to destroy the Taliban and left in place the poisonous ideology that has always made Afghanistand what it is. We thought we could just slap a coat of liberal democracy paint on an already collapsed civilization and it would be good as new.
Schools and voting booths are parts of a civilization, but they are not civilization itself. Ultimately you need the rule of law and strength of character to make a robust society and we no longer even have that ourselves so there is no way we could pass it on. We are just lucky enough to have inherited a great civilization, but we are squandering it as fast as we can.
How does the USA fix this?
Either through economic collapse (like the Soviet Union) or outright revolution. I see so many things in our government, military, media, big business and education establishments that are reminiscent, if not identicle, to the Soviet Union in the 1980s prior to its collapse that I believe one these two events is inevitable very soon and I believe they see it also which is why we have the Jan. 6th show trials.
The powers that be see the cliff ahead and are doing everything imaginable to avoid going over the edge. Unfortunately it is too late.
Well, you’d probably be better to say George Marshall with Ike as his right-hand.
“Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Congress in June that he wanted to understand “white rage,” why “thousands of people” tried “to assault this building and … overturn the Constitution of the United States of America.”“
General, if you don’t understand, you need to go put on your dress, sit in the corner and suck your thumb some more.
The question is do you get another American Revolution or a French or Russian style?
