Gwen Berry, the hammer thrower who infamously turned her back during the national anthem last month at the Olympic trials, claimed over the weekend that she is proud to wear the uniform representing the United States.

Now she’s proud? In several days she will finish well out of medal consideration and will fade quickly into obscurity. So long Gwen!

Earned the right to wear the uniform? Maybe.
Forfeited the right to wear the uniform? Definitely,

Unfortunately, she did earn the privilege of wearing the uniform and representing the USA.
However, for her she’s more than likely had her 15 minutes.
After the Olympics are over, nary a soul will know who she is or recognize as she walks through an airport. She won’t get to take any selfies with adoring fans. She’ll fall into obscurity....Gwen who?
Of course, then that obscurity will be blamed on racism or some other ‘ism’, but the result will be the same. An angry woman that hates the world for reasons she cannot explain.

“...will fade quickly into obscurity..”
A footnote in probably the least watched Olympics games in history.

He?She?It? is a windsock.
Like most 'radicals' demanding change he/she/it thinks everyone outside of her bubble thinks like her so what she did was 'brave' and 'patriotic'.
A good dose of majority backlash by people that do not live in cities has her scrambling to be 'popular' and 'somebody' again.
People like this cannot stand NOT being the popular center of attention.

Now she’s proud? In several days she will finish well out of medal consideration and will fade quickly into obscurity. She probably figured she could lose and still get lucrative deals for her 'braverly' like Colin Kapernick did. I gather the deals have not materialized so now she's trying a different angle.
