U.S. Representative Cori Bush, who was evicted three times and lived in her car with her two children before her career in politics, spent a sleepless night on the U.S. Capitol steps to protest the end on Saturday of a pandemic freeze on evictions.
Bush, a progressive Democrat who won her Missouri seat last year, managed about an hour of sleep sitting upright on a camp chair.
Three other progressive lawmakers – Representatives Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – showed up to support her.
“We slept at the Capitol last night to ask them to come back and do their jobs. Today’s their last chance. We’re still here,” Bush tweeted Saturday alongside photos of herself and staffers in hoodies and blankets.
“The night went better than what a night would really looked like for somebody who was really unhoused,” Bush told reporters from her orange sleeping bag Saturday morning. “We need the powers that be to understand that we’re not going to let this go quietly.”
Photos of their night sleeping rough show the lawmakers thoroughly surrounded by piles of trash, including discarded Domino’s pizza boxes. Stacks of chips, cookies and other junk food stood ready to sustain them.

Bush and Pressley dropped off to sleep around 5 a.m., as staffers sprawled on the steps and the stone plaza around them.
One glaring absence from the sleepover was New York’s own Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Squad stalwart posted a video Friday evening in which she offered supportive words of encouragement.
But perhaps the biggest moment of the night came when AOC started calling all of her BLM and Antifa friends to join her for an insurrection to steal people’s properties, and I’m just using their rhetorics when it comes to using the word insurrection!

Shouldn’t she be hiding like the last time everyday ppl showed up at the capital steps??? I mean she almost died the last time
This ditz is from my state. She's on the opposite end, so I never paid attention to her. My question is, what kind of person looks at her, with that back ground and says to themselves, "Evicted three times and lived in a car, 'YEAH' that's the type of decision making I want representing me!"? I'm sure the liberals look at her and see her as some sort of bootstrap picker upper with grit. I see her as someone how has a long history of making really bad life choices, who should not be let within a football field of the reins of power.
To be fair, I applaud Mike Lindell's story, and think he would probably be a hoot to work for. Absoluteley no way I would want him in any sort of political power over me, though.
I’ve more care for drowned rats floating in a cesspool than I do for the DNC.
It just goes to prove what I’ve said for years: It’s easier to get elected than get hired.
I heard that the small landowners that rent in NYC are now 20 billion in arrears, which they have had to fund out of their own pockets. Why don’t all of the small owners meet AOC and her little commies in Washington and have a real discussion? Is AOC trying to help the Big Landlords take over all rents? It sure appears that Pelosi and her thugs have every intention of doing so.
Well, that POS AOC used the right word steal. She should be familiar with appropriating things like she did the tips at the bar from her coworkers.
Point to consider, these clowns get elected by people who feel that what you worked for belongs to them and they intend to get it. Be prepared.
If during this Great Reset I end up a tenant of a property owned by Blackrock, I do promise to be the worst tenant ever.
Had Ahab merely claimed to take Naboth’s vineyard for a vegetable garden to feed the poor of Samaria he would be a hero to progressives.
THAT should be carved into a stone archway over every road going into DC!
Alexandria Cortez still fanning the flames of Marxism party member to receive extra star.
The Marxist wing of the Democrat party is on the move.
Cori Bush...where was the father. Is this another case where all the kids have different fathers?

Anyone who choosing to be a landlord in New York state needs to have their head examined.
Once they evict their current non paying tennent, the replacement will most likely be another rent evader who was just evicted.

“Is AOC trying to help the Big Landlords take over all rents?”
The eviction moratoriums are hitting minority landlords exceptionally hard.
I watched her video and didn’t see her call for taking peoples property. Is there two videos? This website is a mess I agree.
No, they want the government to take people’s properties for them. As I posted elsewhere, just like Dr. Zhivago, when he came back to Moscow and found a large crowd of complete strangers living in his house, placed there by the at that time new Marxist government.
Property is theft unless the government has stolen it and owns it.

She was carrying a bullhorn urging on the ‘mostly peaceful’ protestors who broke into the gated community to go after the St Louis mayor. None of them were charged, of course, but the family that dared stand outside of their home armed were charged with felonies.
She will hold the seat as long as she cares to.
When the “right people” own all the property, the rules will change to benefit them, not the renters. Think Chinese goverment run slum apartments.
