On Monday, President Biden announced that U.S. troops in Iraq would be out of the combat business at the end of the year, but said the troops would “continue to train, to assist” Iraqi Security Forces starting in January 2022. This represents the latest in a multi-generational unwillingness on Washington’s part to acknowledge reality and get our troops completely out of Iraq – and keep them out.

Also, the Balkans, and Okinawa.
The blood spilled by our soldiers over the last 50 years has been for naught. We constantly telegraph our intentions to our enemies to allow them to prepare. It’s almost like our founders, who eschewed the idea of a standing army for these reasons, knew something about leaders with grudges.
Does he have the “courage”?! He can’t tie his own shoes or wipe his own butt and we’re supposed to debate if he has any faculties at all, much less courage?!
How does a withdrawal factor into the Big Guy’s 10%?

Beat me too it. The second part of your statement is the gutless, cowardly Republicans who have their mouths zipped shut. Allowing a demented old man being control by a shadowy figures destroy our country with nary a word.
Does Biden have the courage to go to the bathroom alone?
What does Joe Biden have to do with it?
He is not in charge.
It has to do with the military NOT following orders and LYING to him/us.
No.
Americans will remain there as “ advisors”
Joe will claim he withdrew “combat troops”
The CF will continue
Blood and Treasure
Go together like...

^— This.
I once had a Battery Commander that was a great staff officer. To save wear and tear on our jeeps, he ordered his 4 platoon leaders to pair up on their Jeeps. The evaluators took us out in 30 seconds.
He also encoded coordinates wrong on another mission, leaving a Vulcan platoon with a 10 kilometer long route defense. Captain Sobel couldn’t have done worse.
20 years is enough.
Get the hell out. If they become a danger to us, smite them hard from the air. Repeat as necessary and the hell with the rules of engagement.
Joe Biden does not have the courage, or wit, to wipe his butt.
Folks have this weird way of thinking the rest of the world is just like the US.
I worked in Iraq for years. Perhaps one of, if not, the most corrupt places on the planet.
Just like Afghanistan, the country’s leadership is bad. They are not for the Iraqi people. They’re for themselves. Making and stealing what they can so they can move to Dubai or Europe.
Folks like to talk about the Taliban taking over the Afghani government. They already have if someone would talk to an actual Afghani and not some talking head on Fox or CNN.
In Iraq, when they had their first few elections, the people voted for individuals. I was there for the 2009 elections and escorted folks to polling locations. Awesome and chaotic at the same time to see people, who’ve never been given that chance to get the opportunity. But, now they vote for blocs. For a group. Here it would be like voting for the Freedom Caucus or Congressional Black Caucus.
That being said, the last election they had, the bloc was closely aligned with Iran. The power behind the thrown, the puppet master, was Muqtada Al Sadr. Leader or former leader of the Mahdi Army that was responsible for lots of American GI deaths. He’s a puppet for Iran. He came out and said that he didn’t like Iran anymore. Sure.
And of course, there are all the militia’s, made up of Iraqi’s that are aligned and funded by the Iranians. No matter how brutal and disgusting Hussein was, he’s rolling over is his grave in hell, knowing that his country is so closely aligned with his former enemy.
Still waiting for you to respond to a single comment.
Courage? Fools go where angels fear to tread.
He doesn’t have the courage to choose between ice cream or pudding on Thursdays.
