Until the vax at all cost crowd comes clean on the fact that natural immunity is much better and that those with prior infection should not risk the shot, they will have no credibility on anything they say.— Daniel Horowitz (@RMConservative) July 25, 2021

Maybe natural immunity is better. Even likely that it is. The thing is, to get it you need to have gotten COVID and recovered from it. Immunity without having to actually have COVID is what the vaccines are for. For a lot of people getting COVID is something they very much want - or need - to avoid.

It's a choice, we all make risk / benefit decisions every day and some thing the risk of dying of COVID outweigh the risks of a novel vaccine that was fast tracked around the normal processes. Others say the opposite. Make your own call and best wishes with it.

Australian government:

COVID-19 itself poses 8 to 10 times the risk of blood clots (in the brain) than that of COVID-19 vaccines.

https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/thrombosis-with-thrombocytopenia-syndrome-tts

You should seek medical attention immediately if, following vaccination, you have any of these symptoms:

a severe or persistent headache that:
starts at least 4 days after vaccination
doesn’t improve with simple pain-relief medicines such as paracetamol
may be worse when lying down
may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting
blurred vision
difficulty speaking
difficulty breathing
chest pain
drowsiness
seizures
swelling in the leg
persistent abdominal (stomach) pain associated with feeling unwell
tiny blood spots under the skin, away from the site of injection

Common and expected side effects of COVID-19 vaccines include fever, sore muscles, tiredness and headache. These usually start within 24 hours of vaccination and last for 1 to 2 days. These side effects shouldn’t worry you unless they’re severe or persistent.

Suppose natural immunity does happen . . . and lasts a month or two.

“’The fact that only 0.8% of COVID-19 deaths are in the fully vaccinated should persuade those people still hesitant about vaccination,’ says Hugh Cassiere, MD, medical director of Respiratory Therapy Services at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.”

Instead of having places where you can get vaccinated,
to keep you from getting covid,
maybe we should have places where you
could get exposed to covid and develop natural immunity...
Any takers???

The point he is making is they won’t even acknowledge natural immunity. Therefore they have no credibility. Government misinformation that ignores natural immunity leads to a public hesitant towards vaccination. If the government and others would be honest and admit to the science of natural immunity, maybe more people would accept government advice.

Was this hospital recently taken over by WVU from UPMC? I think we may be neighbors.

Since I’ve had a prior MI, and have copd, my doctor insisted I had to have the shot, even though I had the virus in 2020, and was very sick for about ten days but fully recovered. I got the Pfizer shots, and after the first shot for four days it was a total replay of the infection with the virus. High fever, couldn’t get enough oxygen, whole body ached like bad case of flu, everything except the loss of taste and smell.

Johns Hopkins' Dr. Marty Makary: Natural immunity "probably lifelong." Vaccinated immunity "may start to wane 6-9 months into it" ... "still protected against death."

“ For most of our 40+ folks, the vaccines are to be preferred over Covid infections.

That’s almost certainly the case down to age 25 too.

Even down to age 12 it is probably a better thing to get vaccinated against Covid.”

Sorry Dr. Fauci. That’s some idiotic stuff there. The odds of death or serious illness for those populations is so statistically low as to be nil.

There is ZERO evidence that a jab gives you any additional protection against Covid beyond your natural antibodies as well.

Zero.

from the two seroprevalence studies I found, ‘natural immunity’ is far smaller population that one would think - about 18% to 25% of the total population.

A check on that would be to compare the number of recovered infected (30M) plus the number fully vaccinated (49% or 300M/2 = 150 million); 180 million ‘acquired immune’

300 million (25 million kids deducted) minus 180 million = 120 million “at risk” - not recovered and not vaccinated.

If we go with 25% of that 120 million as those who were asymptomatic or unreported recovered or ‘natural’ immunity, that’s 30 million. If we get generous and say 50%, that gives us 60 million. So we have another pool of 30-60 million. This leaves a pool of 60 to 90 million out of 120 million that haven’t acquired immunity and haven’t been vaccinated.

That is, 60-90 million are still vulnerable. Versus the general pop as a whole gives a minimum risk ratio of 1 in 3 to 1 in 5 of those who may still get infected. (300/90 and 300/60). However, with half the population vaccinated, the risk rises to 1 in 2 (120/60) or less (120/90) for those not in a protected group.

“ Suppose natural immunity does happen . . . and lasts a month or two.”

I got the WuFlu in January and just took an antibody test last week.

I’m chock full of antibodies, both the shorter term and longer lasting ones.

Only....other studies and reports have said that we are likely at 40% of population already have reached heard immunity/natural infection.

I’d say it is at least that.

Big whoop.

We’re all likely immune to many more viruses than we even know.

jd....your natural immunity will likely last you a lifetime.

Look at SARS-cv-1 folks.....17++ years and still cranking out their antibodies.

Perhaps a dirty secret is that they know that the PCR tests that were used to generate large case numbers (useful for maintaining iron fisted control over us all) are in fact very unreliable for actually diagnosing COVID accurately. As a result they don't really know who had it. Furthermore, so many people had this disease with no symptoms that they further don't know how many really had it. So there is no way to actually know who has natural immunity. All they can count is who got shots in the arm.

But they can never admit that the tests are pretty useless or that they don't actually know how many people had COVID at all really.

So ignore natural immunity as a factor, set a vaccination target, and if you miss it (they did) shut down the world again to coerce people to rush out and get it. Which is where we are. The return of mandates and lockdowns are just starting but it will ramp up. It's about control more than anything else.

Herd immunity is part natural (prior infection with SARS) and part acquired (vaccine/infection). Pencil figures of recovered plus vaccinated gives us + 50% herd immunity. I went further. Going back to my figures, 180 million plus 25-50% of 120 million brings us above 70% net herd immunity once we add a variable for the subgroup.

But herd immunity wasn’t the focus of my post. Claims of so-called ‘natural’ immunity (prior SARS exposure/superimmune) and the risk ratio was. And as ‘herd’ immunity rises, so does the risk to those not protected - until the protection threshhold is reached.

Please provide a source for that. First I’ve ever heard of that.

+++++

And as ‘herd’ immunity rises, so does the risk to those not protected - until the protection threshhold is reached.

And, a source for that ^, as it makes absolutely NO sense. As herd immunity rises....the risk for ALL DECREASES, from what I’ve always heard/read.

TIA.

Lancet reports that previous infection provided only 47% protection from re-infection in the 65+ age group.
