For years I was able to post html pictures. Haven’t been able to for a while now
Smart quotes: " "
Curved quotes: “ ”
Clearly you've got "smart" quotes going on. HTLM syntax doesn't work with smart quotes.
Picture may go with this....
Bob Dylan song
Wiggle Wiggle ——on the album Under the Red Sky (1990)
....
Wiggle to the front, wiggle to the rear,
Wiggle ‘til you wiggle right out of here,
Wiggle ‘til it opens, wiggle ‘til it shuts,
Wiggle ‘til it bites, wiggle ‘til it cuts.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup,
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop,
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead,
Wiggle - you can raise the dead.
Wiggle ‘til you’re high, wiggle ‘til you’re higher,
Wiggle ‘til you vomit fire.
Yikes. Hope you won't get in trouble for "contributing to the delinquency of a FReeper." A misdemeanor, true, but it still isn't something you want on your permanent record.
Test pattern explanation....
I’m sorry to know exactly what it was. That means I’m old.
The antenna had to be facing just right to get the test pattern to look that clear, and the adjustment knobs had to stop the picture from flipping upward over and over.
But we got to watch the classic shows and news was on for 30 minutes, tops——with no Don Lemon or Rachel Maddow. Unless Walter Cronkite broke in to tell us somebody else just got assassinated.
I think I recommended you be heavenly fined for that eye burner, lol Looks like we survived it for more destructive stuff.
I shaved most of the buttons off mom’s remote. It didn’t help much.
And no matter how well you adjusted the antenna, the image would wiggle, wiggle, wiggle every time an airplane went over...
Airplanes going overhead....
After January, 1959 jet airline service began and that made the interference worse, I think. Prop planes were bad enough.
I can remember my dad climbing up in the roof to adjust the TV antenna. We had a procedure where he would point in in what he thought was right direction, I would run into the house and see what it looked like on our black and white TV. Then I run back out and yell to him better or worse. This would go on a few times. Then it was good until a good wind storm would redirect the antenna. [end of story]
That’s the coolest Viking Kitties pic I’ve seen on FR in years! Scary kitties, lol.

Okay so I haven’t found a decent excuse to post the link below and I’m not likely to, but your Viking Kitties link features similar music so I’m just goin’ for it here. Don’t try to stop me.

I have been using cynwoody’s extension for years, but I touched it up a bit..
"when every station signed off for the day"
99% of the time, I download the image I want to post (edit/photoshop if necessary), upload to a host site, copy the image URL (not the host site image page, but the actual picture URL), then post it here.
I remember getting a third channel!
Ahhhh...the TV test pattern!
I remember The TV Man using it for tuning our TV during his annual house call.
And, on some channels (we had five), it went on at midnight when they signed off for the night, right after they played High Flight:

I like your antenna story.
I remember a magazine cartoon where the kids were in the living room and outside their father had slipped off the roof, holding onto the antenna and hanging by the tangled antenna wire upside down near the upstairs windows.
“That’s it! That’s it, Dad. Hold it right there.”
