A Question. I first need to emphasize that I am NOT trying to scare anyone. With that said...
Approximately 1:20 pm at a Western NY Carry Out (7/11) I sign on the glass entrance door reads:
"Exact Change or CC Only - we have no coins!"
While inside, I heard the cashier state to the customer ahead me "The banks are out of coins!"
Has anyone heard anything similar in their area?
Been going on for over a year.
I haven’t heard of it lately, but I think this was a trend during the early stages of the last lockdown.
I own a store and hard to find quarters and dimes from any banks. Shortage they say.
My Shop Rite was asking for customers to use their change and / or, have their order rounded up to the nearest dollar during the winter but it seems to have leveled off.
It started last year in Los Angeles.
Yeah. A symptom of the lockdown. We’re finally getting back to “coin-normal” around here.
Supposedly because of the lock down, coinage had stopped circulating with everyone at home.
Funny you think the same thing would be happening with dollars too.
“A Question. I first need to emphasize that I am NOT trying to scare anyone.”
But you should be scared.
Biden 7/14/2021.
If you don’t have exact change, pay cash for the dollar amount and put the change on a CC! lol
A scheme to force digital only? Hmmm........
I guess folks are using them to make bullets!-)
I’ll sell a $10 roll of quarters for $15.
Better refer to them as "tokens". Real coins ended in 1964, right after the Deep State coup in Dallas.
The government needs to stop issuing pennies and perhaps nickels. It is ridiculous we haven’t dropped the penny, they are hard to carry, worth nothing and just collect in jars at peoples homes.
Then why do banks charge to cash in rolled coins?
I actually think this is part of the war on cash. It's a commie plot to incrementally get rid of cash transactions. They want everyone to pay with a traceable bank card. The and credit card companies are in their pocket. Coins are distributed through the Federal Reserve. That should be the give away.
Don't fall for it. Insist on paying cash as often as possible and getting change back.
My organization has three retail stores. Banks this week didn’t have quarters but plenty of dimes.
I have a two-gallon bucket of coins. Wonder if I can get a commission on them when I haul them to the bank. Will require a handcart. If that bail breaks...
They will charge you a counting fee
