They were behind the sales counter. Too easy to steal. Like $5 per hundred.
There’s a lot of 9mm on the shelves. $25 a box. Yikes.
I should say 40 cents a round if you buy in bulk.
Just hit the local emporium today and they were well stocked with 9 mm, had a *4* box limit and the prices were down.
Definitely the best I have seen in over a year.
Ammo is coming back and getting somewhat cheaper. Now to get primers back out of the stratosphere.
I've been buying directly from Federal Ammunition's website.
Free shipping on any orders over $149, which is a pretty darn good deal.
“Attention Hunters: The Great Ammo Shortage Is Coming For You”
Seems funny to me there was a critical ammo shortage for a while and then scads of it showed up at double the price.
Could you run by my place with some? We’ll feed ya. :-} Funny, someone on here was talking about the folks that have a few hundred thousand rounds on hand. Former gunny said, there ain’t gonna be a firefight lasting long enough to run through it all. Someone’s luck will run out before the ammo does.
Try Lucky Gunner or Palmetto arms. Or check with the ammoseek.com to see it listed by price. Various suppliers.
the other 21% are masturbating on their hoard.
Was at Cabela’s couple of months ago and their entire ammo section was empty, nothing at all on the shelves whereas right after Trump won they had all you wanted. Online ammo sales selling a 333 round brick for $65, the same one I bought for $15.95 earlier.
Just saw small rifle primers at $90/1000. Wow. $30-45 was the typical price.
And an arrow or two hunting in bow season.
Maybe two 12G shotgun shells during Turkey season.../
I might site in everything 3-4 times,,,,and that is it.
Too expensive though.

Ammo is comprised of copper, lead, powder. Copper lead are commodities, inflation is pushing them to historic highs….powder is a petroleum based product- is oil going down? No. Prices will only get higher ( metals need energy to mine) as inflation and commodity shortages increase. Don’t look for ammo prices to ever decrease.
Well unless you loaded up a long time ago. 😏
I don’t think they will go back to previous levels. But I also have no doubt that the big online sellers and retailers are hoarding and slowly releasing their stocks to keep the prices higher.
Our local store still has plenty of 6.5MM Creedmoor. Nothing else.
I need some reasonably priced 6.5 X 55 Swede.
My neighbors spend a fortune punching holes in paper every weekend, weather permitting. From three directions its bang bang bang amounting to at least a couple hundred shots. One had to be educated about backstops since I have a severe allergy to airborne lead randomly traversing my homestead.
Ammo shortages happen on a regular cycle if you haven’t figured that one out. Buy when it is available not when it is scarce. Buy what you can afford and do it regularly during the good times. I have not slowed down my range time one iota. I have seen this rodeo before to many times.
