But why has NASA suddenly become so concerned with figuring out how to defend the Earth from giant asteroids?
By 2029 NASA will be so woke that it will allow any black space objects to hit us—reparations and all...
The fringe thinkers say that NASA has suddenly become very interested in space defense, asteroids, UFOs and the dark side of the moon. NASA seems quite focused, but isn’t really saying why.
Wormwood.
A giant asteroid would be a threat to Biden. It’s smarter.
Question? How are they going to tie asteroids to Climate Change? Asking for a friend. *SNORT*
Maybe they refocused after realizing their muslim outreach efforts weren’t working very well.
Our telescopes are good enough that we should be able to pick up a civilization destroying asteroid with several years notice.
A city destroying one, like the one over Russia in 2013, could still catch us by surprise.

At this point, I’d almost welcome an asteroid, if for no other reason that it would send millions of Maoist Xiden supporters and teachrs’ union members straight to hell. Of course, it wouldn’t spare me either. But to paraphrase Spok, “An equitable trade...”.
I believe China is doing something similar. I will go look for it. My guess is someone knows something.
Annnnnnd we're still waiting.
NASA has been monitoring near earth objects (NEOs) for decades. This 'sudden' interest isn't sudden. Indeed, for decades they've had a scale that helps to asses the potential risk of NEOs.
Knowledge is your friend. Fear is your enemy, unless it helps sell books and doomporn newsletters.
Rusty: Ya' got Asteroids?
Cousin Dale: Naw, but my dad does. Can't even sit on the toilet some days.
One of the true science items in an episode of Ancient Aliens was that within either 10 years or 20 years, real scientists predicts the odds of Earth being hit by a large asteroid are close to 100%.
This has nothing to do with extraterrestrials. It was about huge reductions in life forms on Earth.
Some points on Ancient Aliens.....
Permian-triassic Extinction: 250 million years ago
The largest mass extinction event in Earth’s history affected a range of species, including many vertebrates.
Cretaceous-tertiary Extinction: 65 Million Years Ago
The extinction that occurred 65 million years ago wiped out some 50 percent of plants and animals.
then psi.edu and wikipedia said:
The Chicxulub Crater lends support to the theory postulated by the late physicist Luis Alvarez and his son, geologist Walter Alvarez, that the extinction of numerous animal and plant groups, including non-avian dinosaurs, may have resulted from a bolide impact (the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event).
Debris from the explosion was thrown into the atmosphere, severely altering the climate, and leading to the extinction of roughly 3/4 of species that existed at that time, including the dinosaurs. Many asteroids of this type are now known; their orbits pass through the inner solar system and cross Earth’s orbit.
Why?
How about 3 passes by Apophis between now and 2070?
How about that moon-size item from elsewhere in the galaxy just discovered on path to cross right through our solar system?
Moslems, trannies, gays, and various types of hair-sniffing perverts are worried... Therefore NASA is on the job...
