Easily 70% of Texans under 40 want marijuana legalized. Mathew will sign it day one if on his desk. More than half of Texas I personally know 40 to 60 also want the ridiculous penalties for marijuana dropped at the state level. Dallas and Austin both have decriminalized under an ounce. Mathew is also a staunch libertarian which appeals to a good number of moderate Texans he will win if he runs. Abbot is hated by many a Texan on the right enough so that Matthew will win I’ll put a hundred in the pot that bongoboy takes the whole race. Texas is purple and the moderates are the swing and the HATE abbot after this ercot fiasco where it’s clear as day we were sold out to corporate power companies. Abbot is toast because of the winter storm, the current ercot scandal and he made a lot of enemies with cutting off Federal money he is legally required to distribute the state’s do not have the authority to stop Federal money he will lose the case ultimately at the federal level only Congress has the power the start and stop Federal funds. State funds are his privy fed is never.

I don’t think so. Allen West is a true Patriot and I will always support him, but I think he’s bounced around too much lately. I feel like he’s just trying to climb the ladder. Abbot has my support because of the things he’s done to reinforce our border with Mexico, as well as the things he’s done to tell the Federal government to eff off.

Of the total 1,090 adults surveyed, 1,016 answered the McConaughey question, 337 responded to the attorney general Republican primary question, and 1,086 self identified with a political party.

A poll of "adults" of whom 337 responded to the question on one of the races. That is not a good sample of those who may be voting to start with, and that latter small response rate would have quite a large margin of error if accurate at all.

Take a look at how they took the sample...difficult to take any of the data seriously.

Abbott allowed a decision as to who was essential.
That never should have happened.

That was his low point, I agree. But since that happened, he’s been a pretty strong conservative governor. I’m sure there are others that would disagree with me. My question to you is are you going to find anyone better suited for the job? Are they not all going to have their faults? I remember when I was a full throated supporter of George W. Bush. I wouldn’t hire that guy to be dogcatcher today. LTC West needs to find another calling, in my opinion. He can be a strong advocate for conservative causes in another role.

Amazing how they find Conservatism right before the election. 8 years for Abbott as Governor is long enough. Col. West is the refreshing change the state needs.

What about Abbott that you don’t like? And what about LTC West that you do like? My point is that no one is going to make decisions that you agree with 100 per cent of the time. I feel like LTC West is a ladder climber, even though I agree with him 98 percent of the time.

Politicians, like diapers, should be changed often. There’s no extraordinary reason Abbott has presented that he deserves to serve more than 8 years as Governor. Am I saying he’s a terrible Governor ? No.

My criticisms go to his mishandling of the ice storm crisis earlier this year, but also the fact that as the largest state in the nation with a GOP Governor, he should be an enormous presence with refuting and criticizing the lawless Red China puppet regime in Washington. It’s like with Michael Corleone replacing Tom Hagan. Hagan’s not a wartime consigliere. We need a wartime Governor in TX, and that would be Col. West. He’d arguably be the most intelligent Governor ever elected, either in TX or anywhere else. He knows history, he knows America’s enemies, he would become a de facto President for Constitutional America.

Texas would be foolish to reject someone of Col. West’s caliber to succeed Abbott as Governor. West is a leadership person, he’s not someone to serve in lesser office. Same with President Trump.

“McConaughey and Gov. Abbott nearly tied”

This is typical. It happens all the time...it’s a ‘fantasy phase’ of the electorate, where they dream how wonderful life would be if the Leftist wins.

Assuming the conservative isn’t a total idiot (like Cruz), that quickly wears off and the Republican picks up 10 points, and usually wins.

Backup Quarterback Syndrome.

The most popular player on a bad football team is the backup quarterback, until people see why they are the backup quarterback.

You do know Cruz has perfect memory right and seems to keep gaining from that? Not an idiot by a long run.
