Breyer is 82. The chances are significant they won’t have to wait for him to retire.

They begged Ruth Bader Ginsberg to retire while Obama could nominate her successor. She was asked about it in an interview and her response made my jaw drop. As if it were the stupidest question she had ever heard she snapped, “And just who do you think can do as good a job as me?”

Uhm...any brain dead moron who can stay awake on the bench and let the law clerks write his decisions? Did she think she was going to live forever? It’s actually simpler than that. People think that they are the job and the job is them. In truth, if they give up the job they will die shortly, as their life will no longer have purpose.

Je suis l’État. (I am the state.)

The liberal commentary is hilarious. Conservatives have a super-majority of 6-3? In what universe? Roberts is liberal and the rest are squishy.

If anything, I’d say the court leans 5-4 liberal.

If by fate we end up with a 1 seat majority before Nov. ‘22. McConnell should announce that the only nominee they’ll take hearings on is Hillary. She’s 73 and her ‘time clock’ is ticking. With a 6-3 minority they’d be gambling on ‘24. Make her do it for the team. 30 hours of hearings.

Btw-Biden could kill 2 birds with 1 stone by nominating Kamala. A ‘moderate’ governor to take her place. GOP may have to go along for the sake of Biden’s health and the country.

If I were the Justice, I’d be concerned about what I ate and whom I associated with. Just look at the mysterious death of Judge Antonin Scalia.

Would motivated leftists ‘off’ a conservative? Of course, and without a second thought! Between Ioseb Besarionis dzе Jughashvili (Joseph Stalun) and 毛泽东 (Mao Zedong), they killed over 100 million of their fellow countrymen. To a ‘true believer’, killing someone who stood in their way of socialist/leftist control, would mean less than going over a speed bump. Just look at Johnson’s November 22, 1963 coup!

You do know you’re borderline diabolical, right? I’ll bet you issued forth a “bwahahaha” as you typed that.

Why aren’t they after the Wise Latina to step down? She’s in her late 60s, I think, and is diabetic and is said to have some other health problems too.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg thought she could outlast the Trump administration, and that a Democrat would appoint her successor. In 20/20 hindsight, Ruth probably thought Hillary would win in 2016, and she would have retired to let Hillary pick her successor. But with the election of the hated Trump, Ginsburg felt the need to try to outlast his presidency. She chose poorly.

Well, the liberals look at cases such as the Arizona voting case, which was 6-3, with only the three strong liberals opposed, to say that we have a 6-3 conservative court.

As always, the breakdown of the court depends on the individual cases being argued and decided.
