Consider how they allocated the seats for the Delaware legislature back then in the 1930’s.
17 State Senate seats with two in the city of Wilmington, five in the rest of New Castle County, five in Kent County and five in Sussex County.
35 State House seats with five in the city of Wilmington, 10 in the rest of New Castle County, 10 in Kent County and 10 in Sussex County.
In short population did not matter back then in Delaware and the rest of the USA when it came to legislative districting from Congressional Districts on down to the state legislatures.
The cities were contained by the power given to rural areas in Washington and the state capitols by allocating legislative seats more on the basis of geography than population.
CONSIDER THIS BACK THEN IN THE 1930’S IN CALIFORNIA LOS ANGELES COUNTY HAD 38.9 PERCENT OF CALIFORNIA’S POPULATION BUT ONLY ONE OF ITS 40 STATE SENATORS....
A US Supreme Court led by a guy who was Governor of California for ten years before becoming Chief Justice would shake things up in 1964 by declaring that all legislative districts in the USA had to be equal in population and it had to happen immediately.

Then Jewish Telegraphic Agency gave us some news about the two year old Jewish girl the British National Health Service wants to euthanize....Put your hands on that Matt Hancock. Of course the news being that Chuck Schumer got involved. The girl’s father a US citizen Haredi Jew and plenty of Orthodox Haredi constituents in New York.
Hillary paid attention to them, got their support.
But getting back to Australia. I put out the news summary last night 27 stories a massive Friday late June Newsdump. Government and business alike dump their bad news in the Friday-Saturday window.
Saturday’s can be the worst part of that window for the dirtiest baddest news to be dumped out by government and business entities.
And the Liberal Party (Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s party) of Australia did not disappoint my expectations.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian of the Liberal Party piling the excrement higher and deeper ordering some 5.7 million people in Sydney and surrounding regions of New South Wales state into a tight lockdown effective 6 pm local time today (2 am Eastern US time).
Stay home unless:
1. Shopping for food and other essential goods and services.
2. Medical care or compassionate needs (including COVID-19 vaccination)
3. Exercise outdoors in groups of 10 or less.
4. Essential work or education, where you cannot work or study from home.
The Premier is allowing weddings scheduled this weekend to go forward.
The lockdown until July 9th at least (Two Weeks). The government entities as we all know by now can change that lengthen the lockdowns at will.
