McAllen, Texas, is a blue city. At least it was. Yesterday, it officially flipped to red as Javier Villalobos defeated Democrat Veronica Vela Whitacre by a narrow margin in the mayoral runoff election.
Despite being safely blue with a huge majority of Hispanic voters, the border town has been one of the many to experience massive human smuggling activities ever since Democrats took control in Washington DC. Illegal immigration was at the heart of the campaigns on both sides, but it’s hard for a Democrat to have credibility by opposing illegal immigration when their party is embracing open borders policies.
For those in cities and states affected by the Democrats’ border crisis, this race could be a harbinger for future elections as well as a roadmap for future Republican success. With the economy fading fast after showing signs of recovery in the last few months under President Trump, the border crisis will act as a separate reminder of the Democratic Party’s failures.
Pay attention to McAllen, Texas, GOP. If opposing open borders in a city with an 85% Hispanic population can resonate, it should be the rallying cry for a red wave in 2022.

I’m from Maine, and was in Mission and McAllen TX recently, and I saw a few white faces, and absolutely zero black ones. My friends told me there a couple manufactured “protests” over George Floyd last year, arranged by people from Austin, but they were driven away and never returned.

Then again, the hispanic community is definitely one or two orders of magnitudes away from functioning in a civilized society, so we are also going to have to deal with gangs, tribalism, illegals, (get them OUT) and why so many of the women south of the border look like Fred Flinstone, and not Salma Hayek.

A lot of Hispanics supported President Trump. We are making a big mistake if we write the Hispanic vote off.
You can guarantee it if the DemonRats thought for one minute the Hispanics coming over the border were going to vote R they would go build the wall themselves.
They are not voting GOPe
They are voting Trump

It is a huge mistake to lump all Hispanics together the way rats and liberals do to blacks, ESPECIALLY TEXAS HISPANICS.
McAllen is one of the biggest sneaking across points.
Many, many years ago, there was a post about a woman who bragged about her 450 crossings there.
The black ethnic group will become a minority of a minority, if they havent already.
It’ll be the back of the buss forever for them.
They tried to have a BLM/antifay thing in Berkeley Springs WV, once.
Thousands of armed ‘billies and bikers were there to greet them.
It was a very short “protest” with antifay hiding behind cops the whole time.
No one heard anything the BLMers tried to say because every time they opened their mouths, the Blackout truck blasted the national anthem, which everyone started singing, en masse and bikers revved their Harleys.
I love my area.
Not as many as we needed. 60% still voted Democrat and always do. There were some exceptions: Florida, where we won Cubans by huge margins, and also Texas where I think we got almost 50% of Hispanics if memory serves.
As the illegals flood and get amnesty, in and their US citizen children get to voting age, even Texas will turn deep blue.
Most of my family lives in Mexico. My uncle, who has since passed away (was murdered for protecting a random woman in distress; the man assaulting her pulled a gun), was a tall red head. He’d regularly sneak back and forth across the border to McAllen and beyond, on foot. He claimed border patrol would ignore him since they assumed he was American.
Berkeley Springers are bohemians, not Bolsheviks. Bohemians are hairy-legged earth mama types who like to paint and sculpt in a one-room art studio and are one good bong hit away from Woodstock all over again. At least for now. Best to keep a vigilant eye on them, lest that social kudzu called Communism starts taking root in the back alleys. I otherwise would like three acres bordering a trout stream somewhere along the Cacapon River.
