In a troll worthy of social media insanity, The Daily Wire‘s Matt Walsh launched a fundraising campaign for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ suffering abuela. The grandmother of America’s Wokeheart has been condemned to living in squalor and poverty ever since President Trump forced a hurricane to hit Puerto Rico and then forced their governor to “misplace” millions of dollars in cash and aid just to spite the big, bad orange man.
AOC made sure to show us the horrific conditions her abuela has been enduring, and of course, took the opportunity to blame Trump, because it’s been a whole five minutes since someone on the left last mentioned him.
Just over a week ago, my abuela fell ill. I went to Puerto Rico to see her- my 1st time in a year+ bc of COVID.
This is her home. Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR.
People are being forced to flee ancestral homes, & developers are taking them.

Of course, many people wondered how a sitting congresswoman making almost $200k a year (that we know of) could let her own grandmother suffer in such squalor. Why wait for government to help, when you can rectify a lot as a family?
Walsh took the notion a step further when he decided to challenge AOC’s ideas that only government can solve all of our problems. On Friday, the conservative commentator opened a GoFundMe account aimed at raising enough money to provide for Abuela AOC’s housing repairs and more. By Saturday, Walsh said he had been notified that the recipients have rejected the money and asked GoFundMe to halt the campaign, even as it surpassed $100k.

I must admit that I called this one wrong. I was convinced Matt’s trolling would end up blowing up in his face. I was sure AOC was smart enough to take that money and figure out a way to ridicule conservatives for giving her their money.
As it turns out, she is not smart enough.
It’s pretty fascinating, really. We raised enough to change her grandmother’s life. We could have raised enough to lift her whole neighborhood out of poverty. AOC shut it down. She’d rather leave people to suffer than accept help from us. Very revealing episode.

And here I was, all along, thinking that “Abuela” was a horse running in the Kentucky Derby.
I had my refund in a matter of hours. Apparently, yes, GoFundMe stopped the process when someone informed them that Abuelita wouldn’t accept the money.
Was not AOCs family living in squalor like a week ago? A woman making 174k base k with donations which might have been legal?
Maybe Abuela wants to sell or already did sell her ancestral home to greedy developers. Maybe she took the money offered by developers and plans to live off it.
This whole affair has been just too, too delicious.
As a former bartender, she is accused of being the primary reason Amazon pulled their planned HQ2 move to New York in March of 2019 to the tune of 25,000 jobs loses paying a minimum salary of $150,000.
She objected to the $2.8 billion in tax breaks Amazon would have gotten, but failed to mention an expected $27 billion in long-term tax revenues for the area.
Now she has done it again. Blaming Trump for her grandmother's plight in Puerto Rico for allegedly withholding hurricane reliefs supplies and aid, while at the same time not helping her grandmother herself and rejecting $100,000 in Go Fund Me aid arranged by Matt Walsh.
She is either lying or playing politics to make Trump look bad, using her grandmother's wellbeing as a pawn in the whole sordid affair.
AO-C has no moral compass. She is a self-serving politician of the highest degree.
She just threw her grandmother under the bus in exchange for attempting to score some points against Trump.
This reminds me of OBOZO. Living the life of a multimillionaire while his relatives in Africa live in squalid shacks. A total fraud.
